I just recently got into an accident and smashed my stock side mount intercooler on my 99 gsx and i got the intercooler replaced with a brand new one, but now it runs like crap (Running very rich and i can smell burning oil). This is the only thing besides the body damage that was hurt in the accident. I read somewhere that if u blow a intercooler pipe u might need a new o2 sensor can anyone help me with this any help would be appreciated thanks

Yes If the lower i/c pipe "blows off", the O2 sensor is affected by the ECU "fuel dump". I suggest having it replaced.

- Since that car has been in an accident and repaire, jack the car up, check the oil return line from the turbo to the oil for leaks, dents or any "kinks".

- Remove the lower I/C pipe and check for oil desposit from at the turbo outlet.

- Check the for oil in the intake side of the turbo.

- Make sure there is no oil leaking from the valve cover onto the exhaust manifold or the turbo housing.

While under there make sure the I/C clamps are secured!!!!

Good luck
