help!!!!!!!

ok i have a 2g non turbo eclipse it was running fine till the other night i shut it off and now it wont start. the only way to get it to start is to hold the gas peddle all the way down while starting it which is odd so we changed the plugs and feul filter.... still nothing.when it starts it idles really odd and idles down really slow so we thought tps sensor not that. hten it would run fine but was blowing black smoke and smelled like carbon and unburned gas. then being a freak of nature it was fine for like 10 mins and then it idled reallly weird and if you hit the gas at all it would die.the other weird thing is the plug we changed yesterday are now ####ed...... so no one knows what the hell its doing we were thinking idle control but not sure or something fuel wise let me know what you guys think cause i have tried all the ideas we had

Perhaps a bad throttle body sensor or computer? Check for a error code, if you can.

yea it was pulling the check engine light after it all happened but we took it to advance auto and they tried to pull a code but no luck and it wont drive long enough to get it any where

hey does anyone think maybe it could have somthing to do with the cat b/c someone said it could be clogged

ok talked to many people and some people are thinking its the catalytic converter and that it may be clogged i called a shop but they cant get it in till next week and i really need to get it back so if anyone thinks they might know please let me know!!

Did you check your cam timing? Classic to jump at shutdown/startup.

It could be your cat. If it smells funny, then its definitely your cat. Otherwise it sounds like your injectors went shit.
