I have a 95 gsx with the extreme motorsports 2.5 inch catback. When i got the exhaust it didnt have a spot for the o2 sensor but after to talking to sum people online they suggested i keep it hooked in and place it under my seat.....all ran fine except the CEL. My problem now is that im running extremely rich but my lightshow gauge(autometer A.F ratio) says that im extremely lean...could the second 02 sensor mess up the reading and cause my engine to run rich? thanx for any response....

my exhaust smells like it and i have rediculous amounts of carbon deposits in my exhaust.....

The second o2 sensor just lets the computer know that the cat is working, nothing to do with fuel trims. Make sure you hooked the a/f gauge wire to the right spot. If its all hooked up to the first o2 sensor, then the sensor itself might be dead. I don't think just installing a cat-back system would make you run any leaner, though it may carry more carbon out of your exhaust as it does flow better than stock.
