I'm about to buy this 92 awd laser and i had a few questions. He says the car won't start but it has a brand new rebuilt engine. HE said its because the fuel pump isn't getting any power, but the fuel pump does work. He strongly suggests that it is the ignition switch and that it would need replacing. Has anyone run into this sort of problem before?? And how hard would it be to replace an ignition switch. I don't wanna drive 3 hours and figure out i cant do it by myself. oh, and i am new to the dsm world so anything would be greatly appreciated.

I'd bring a long piece of heavy gauge wire - maybe lug a switch & definitely a fuse in it - You could then run a jumper from battery direct to FP for the trip back...

I might bring a switch with me too but you have to pull stuff to get to that too - & what if you don't want the car? A proper jumper will get it home - or at least get it running & tell you if the FP IS GOOD... (they seldom die).
