starting problem

hey guys, last few days my car has been tempermental when i try to start it, especially first thing in the moring.
sometimes car will start first shot like it should, perfectly normal.
other times, i will get a click click click, and then nothing, try again nothing, the radio lights etc come on, but it wont start, usually by the 2nd time it will start though, hasnt NOT started yet.
any ideas, or things to check for.
car does not turn over at all btw, doesnt sound like its trying to turn on, i juss get nothing.
my first idea was terminals, and i'll clean them and tighten them tomorrow, anyone else have input.

Check the battery terminals (also make sure there not hitting the hood), then try push starting it (start rolling, put it in first, slowly let out the clutch). If it starts, then its your starter or starter ground.
