checking engine codes

chilton shows in there book that u can check any trouble codes by a test terminal under the drivers side dash(the white connector in the pic)

but on my 91 eclipse its not there? anybody know where else it might be at?

i found it! was under the carpet behind the fuse box......

i've tried checking the code several times, everytime when the CEL is on it wont read anything it stays at zero, when the CEL goes off the needle moves back and forth like it says it should under normal operation. so why am i not getting any code

the car idels and will shut off sometimes and wont go over maybe 1.5k rpms and when it dies the rpm stays at 4k rpms and the isc motor clicks(have 2 and both click)
