ok..this wiring question has to do with the speed sensor.
i earlier found my speed sensor disconnected, like the wires were ripped out of the sensor.. and i couldn't find the 3 wires that went to the sensor.. i look through the engine harness trying to find 3 disconnected wires and couldn't find them... so i found out what wires went to the sensor (1 wire was speed sensor, 2 wire was ground, 3 wire was for ignition switch). now my question is... can i tap those three wires straight from the ECU and run them to the sensor? or do i have to find the 3 wires from the engine harness? please help

yes you should be able to - although only the sensor wire needs to go to the ECU. Ground can go to any ground and ignition sw wire can go to any +12v that's on the ignition switch.

I'm looking at a 99 GST wiring schmatics (which I think should be the same as your 95) and it shows the speed sensor is on a 3 pin connector (A76). Pin 1 has a black/white wire and goes to ignition switch. Pin 2 has a black wire and goes to ground. Pin 3 has a yellow wire and goes to many places, two of which may be accessable for you. One is pin 14 (yellow/white wire) of the Data Link Connector (B38) (which has pins #'s 1-16). This may be easier to get at than the ECU. The other is pin 86 (yellow wire) of the ECU's B-56 connector (which has pins #'s 71-92).

PM me if you need more info.

I would be very careful about the power wire you are referring to. Most sensors do not use a 12volt reference wire. They are either 5 or 8 volts. I would make very certain your "power wire" you are refering to is not a lower voltage than battery positive.

You really need to find those old wires. It is very possible they will short out later and cause you several headaches.

Fix it right and ya won't be fixing it again next week :D.
