thanks,

i havent tinkerd with anything and as far as i know i dont have a vac leak...im not to smart either so i dont know how to adjust my timing :(. my car has been stuttering like crazy lately and i think its a boost leak. the stutter only happens when i hit around 15psi and when i turn the boost down below 15 psi the car pulls all the way to whatever rpm i want. with 20 psi it starts to buck around 16-20 psi and wont accelerate past 4500 rpm. could the knock be coming from a boost leak when i rev and build boost in neutral? well im going to go do some 3rd gear pulls and see what i get when i boost and when i dont boost. thx

Just remember a couple of things..

When you are pushing more boost than stock you need to add fuel to the mix or you will run the motor lean and this is not good. The other thing that a lean mixture will cause is preignition and or detonation. Preignition is caused by hot spots on the piston igniting the fuel before the sparkplug sparks.(ping). This is not a good thing..

Detonation occurs when the plug fires and then the temperature reaches a certain point where a more rapid burn occurs not quite an explosion in the engine but close.

So I guess what I am saying is fix the timing. If you can't do it yourself then have it done. Then see if that helps. I would suggest doing this soon as either of the 2 things above can be harmfull.

I am not trying to scare you just want to impress the point that "ping" is bad... Especially when pushing 20psi...

Hope this helps.
