Question 6 bolt or 7?

I own a 90 laser fwd turbo. The drivetrain is stock(for now). Does anyone know for sure if this is a 6 bolt or 7?

Also what are the advantages of using 2g pistons in a 1g motor, and what has to be done to make this work?

Well if the motor has never been pulled it's a 6-bolt.

the way to tell if u have a 6 or 7 bolt engine is to look at the exausht manifold studs, if u have a 6 bolt they will all be 8mm studs all around. if u have a stock head. If u have a seven bolt their will be two 10mm studs on the far ends of the manifold and the rest will be 8mm studs, you all so can tell by the size of the oil pickup too, Looking at the pan is defintely not a good way to tell.

Go to the dealer and give them your VIN and they can tell you. Or you can pull the tranny and clutch and look at the flywheel.....your choice.

from the pictures there I didn't see a cas on the side of the head, that means its a 95 or 96 7 bolt engine that has the cas/cam sensor down on the crankshaft. Thoes pictures are definatly from a completly stock motor.
