Hello!
Hello everyone! My name is Jason, I'm 24, and I just bought a '96 Eagle Talon a couple weeks ago. The engine had a spun bearing and was in generally poor shape. I'm rebuilding it myself and hopefully this site will be a good resource. Thanks in advance to all!

My 96' spun a rod bearing 4 days after I got it. At the very least make sure to remove the balance shafts and use ARP head studs. Good luck and welcome to tuners.

Make sure the valve cover itself is ok, check for cracks. There aren't to many valve covers out there anymore for a 4g63 that don't have cracks

Welcome, pick a path you want and stick to it dont change your mind all the time or the car will never get done. Be realistic in your goal, wants, and needs or this car could consume you. In the end its all worth it!

Welcome! I have a suggestion for you my friend, do a compression test on the engine. Its good to have a baseline for the future if you plan to tune your car.

Welcome! There is plenty of great information here, try reading a lot of the FAQ's and searching for answers before asking them beacuse there is a good chance that it has been covered elsewhere. And again, welcome!

Becareful on that 99 engine. Me, and three other people I know (with 99 engines) had the rod bearings fail. Just something to keep in mind.
