I have a electronic boost controller right now. I did not install it yet. I was talking to this dude and he said manual boost controllers work better on dsm. Just wanted to know why would that be. Should i switch to a manual one? My thinking on it was I wanted to be able to control the boost from the cab.....cause I was thinking a manual u have to go under the hood? please explain

Price, and ease of installation (for me)...

You may think it's a good idea to be able to change your boost settings on the fly, but the reality is that something as simple as humidity, barometric pressure and the like can push a tune off. Changing the boost setting will disrupt the tune to a greater extent. While it will more than likely run OK(unless you're change is a big PSI amount), it will not be the optimal tune.

Anyway, after the newness wears off, it will more than likely be set at a certain PSI and stay there.

I have a Hallman Pro with a notch on it for 20PSI (winter), then run the knob all the way out for 16PSI and loadable tunes for both with DSMLink. Same scenario could be done for a pump tune to race gas tune. But mine only changes twice a year.

I prefer MBCs for the ease of install and consistency holding boost well. Just a few minutes to install, and a few more minutes to set and your good to go!

Some EBCs can have issues holding boost good, and some can be a pain to setup IMO.

The hallman Pro MBCs are great for the price because they have a self locking knob for very fast boost adjusting, it's design is pretty nice looking, and it has proven to hold high boost levels very consistant for us.

simple turn of the knob, and its set. After adjusting a few times you will have a good feel at knowing how far to turn to quickly get to a desired boost level.
