I thought I replied to this a few days ago but i guess not....anyways yeah I bought it from her and he deffinately ###ked it up. He bondoed the body kit on horribly and everything else he did is messed up too. Do you know why he sanded the rear interior panels?

New guy checking in
hey everyone, my name is Doug, I'm from NJ. I was directed to this site from a google search because I may be purchasing a 1g talon in the near future. It is an automatic AWD turbo, I forget the year but will find out. I have never owned a DSM and am here to learn as much as I can! I want to make it kind of quick for little money. That's what these cars are good for, right?
Anyway, right now I own a 2000 Pontiac Trans Am WS6, not much done to it but its decently fast.
I am highly mechanically inclined, so I can do most work myself, provided I have all the tools. I know how engines work and all of the major components to automobiles. I've been building, repairing, and maintaining engines in cars, trucks, diesels, etc. for about 8 years now (and I'm only 20 ).
I will be around since I'm a noob to the whole import/dsm scene to learn about THESE cars to help make mine a little faster. (when i get it)
Also, what should i be on the lookout for when purchasing one of these cars? Anything I can tell that is wrong with the car without taking it apart? Besides the obvious squeels, knocks, grinds, etc that could be due to worn parts. Thanks!

Hey all,
My name is Zach, I'm 20, and have just acquired (for free) a 1990 Plymouth Laser RS Turbo FWD from my girlfriend's dad who is the ORIGINAL owner. He had it imported to Germany where he was stationed at the time and had it shipped back to the states when his time over there was up. As for the condition of the vehicle, it's not running, ha. Apparently one of the wiring harnesses under the dash caught fire. I'm going to be removing the dash, inspecting the harnesses, ecu, and everything else. I've bookmarked a few tech articles to help me out but if anyone could provide any helpful tips on my new project, I'd greatly appreciate it. Hopefully it's easier to work on than my VR-4 (eeeek).
Anyways, as a proud new owner of a DSM, I'd like to say hello again and thanks in advance for any tips provided. Thanks.

Hello Vickie. Welcome aboard. Good luck w/ the search for a new ride. Just make sure to thoroughly check everything before making that purchase.
Do a few searches regarding vehicle purchase. That way you would have a general idea of what to look for or expect when purchasing a dsm.
Give me a shoot if your still out searching for dsm by December. I might consider selling my ride for the right price.
Best of luck.
