Wow, you did a really good job with the paint man (with both cars). Keep us updated on your car.

A really nice find, the previous owner could have scrapped the car and gotten a few hundred dollars more than what he sold it to you for!

I've seen Talon 2gb bumpers go for more than 1/2 of what he paid for the car.

New to DSM
Hey all!
I just recently purchased a 1995 Eagle Talon ESi. All stock (except for the exhaust), with aftermarket lights and rims.
The previous owner didn't really know what he had. Less than 150K, 5 spd.
After purchase I gave it a full tune-up and replaced the battery. I checked with a local dealer and they said the recall service for the driver-side tie-rod had not been done, so this week I am changing those out and doing a brake job.
I'm happy with my car. I never realized I could enjoy driving a 4 cyl again after my parents jeep died on me and I had to repair it.
Would like to hang out with local DSM-ers in the greater SD area, so just hit me up or whatever.

ok few newb questions.... do they make like a wide body fender flare? I know alot of other cars they do, just never seen a set on these. That muffler I bogart'd is loud...obnoixiously loud, im not into it, any performance mufflers that done sound like a 747 landing in my ear? how well do the aftermarket black housing projector lights work? I have a set on my f-onefiddy and they rule! and.....thats about it right now.

just here to introduce myself new to DSM's -denver-
I registered at colorado dsm but I havent gotten my account confirmed yet and its been 3 days so Ill just post this here.
Im 21 and I just bought a 94 eclipse gsx 5 spd, I love the car but this engine is really sending me for a spin everything about it is kinda entimidating to me for some reason .
I think its partly due to the fact that my previous car was a 95 neon and that car is probably the simplest car a person could own the engine is straight foreward and easy to work on, this car on the other hand is full of sensors and wires and I just dont have the experience that I need to properly work on the car.
I know that by signing in to this website I could learn a whole lot from you guys because not only do you guys have a lot of history with these cars you also have a lot of respect and love for these vehicles, thats why I know this would be the best (2) places to become a worthy DSM'er like you guys.
the car has no mods other than the stock muffler being replaced by a carbon fiber one and also maybe the radiator its pretty thick and seems to be pure aluminum.

Hey guys! Let me start by saying how great this site is. I came across my DSM just by chance as I really hadn't had too much interest in them before I picked this one up, although a guy I used to work with, his buddy Brad Davis had a 10 sec street legal talon (was sponsered by Turbo Smart I believe), so I've always known what these 4G63's are capable of. Anyway, this will be my first car to ever get on the road. I had a built 1995 VW GTI 2.0L 8V, but never did get it on the road due to financial "issues". Built up about as much as a streetable NA motor could be, without going ITB (which isn't really for the street anyway). So, back to my Talon. I was at work (I work at a shop) and noticed a guy standing by his Talon like something was wrong, and he told me he was about to have the car towed to the scrappers due to "broken teeth on the flywheel". So, he offered it up, all he asked for was more than what the scrap yard was willing, so I gave him all the cash I had on me ($130), owed another $170, and he handed me the ownership right there. I didn't even have time to look the car over as I was on work time, but I figured if it really wasn't worth saving I'd just part it out, get my money pack and send her to the scrappers. After finally having a look, it cranked just fine (don't know why he figured flywheel), but nothing. Turned out to be the timing belt and some bent valves. So, now I really get to learn about my DSM, from the inside out. Haven't even driven it yet, but I already love it. Lots of plans, althought right now I am just rebuilding the head and bottom end so it is ready when I do the eventual turbo setup. I am just glad I saved this thing before the auto world lost another one due to neglect/abuse. Happy to be a noob to the DSM world!

Hi!!!!!!!
Wuz Up? I'm Izzie and I'm new to the DSM world but I'm starting to like these cars. I drive a 94 eagle talon tsi and I can't wait to start learning new things to upgrade my car.
I saw her sitting in a used car dealer and I always wanted to have one. It was love at first sight even though she was all dirty ### someone traded her in. I learned to turn wrenches because my dad is a huge muscle car fan and my friends are honda guys. I thought hondas were preety cool that is until I bought her. I'm staring to find out how much potential these cars have and hopefully I learn how to tune them!. Anyways I'm happy to be here!

M.O.D. = Mitsubishi Owners Day
I can see how that could be misunderstood though.

Actually... funny story.
Last night on my way home I lost my power steering... Dont know what happened. It just all of a sudden decided not to work, so until I get that fixed I don't see be able to make it. really wish I could though.
