hello all...
hello all...just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I am a old tuner new dsm owner and I am very happy with my purchase. I just picked up a 91 eagle talon AWD turbo. its been modded somewhat but I am not impressed with the amount of getto fabbing the original owner did to this car so I am going to do a complete rebuild. I am going to build this car for show and go...but thats to come later...Like I said just wanted to say hi and that I am dieing to learn new shit on these rides for the potential with them is great to what I have seen.

thanks for the welcomes... yes I have been searching alot the past 2 days and have read up and learnt so damn much... and the more I read the more I realize how much of a retard the previous owner was...I now see that I have so much more work ahead of me then I first expected. the car has a big 16g turbo, KYB AGX struts on factory springs, 17" rims, a 4" manifold back exhaust off of a desiel truck???? why im not sure..but ok... idle fluxes up and down. other then that is got a stage 1 clutch in it. and a brand new 5 speed trans.and even though its AWD he removed the front drive so that he could drift the car... kinda stupid IMO but he welded somthing on the rear so that it would act as a posi rear. So knowing my luck that will be somthing else I will have to fix. the good news is that I have the old trans, several intercoolers, front shafts to make it a AWD again and tons of other parts. but the good thing is that the body is strait as hell and the interior is clean too. Oh and for some reason the at high rpms the boost creeps up high past 6k. It will creep up from 16 to 25 PSI very quickly. I think it has somthing to do with the BOV but not sure yet.

lol dont get me wrong I love drifting but this car really isnt designed for it for it isnt a true RWD. honestly I would rather have the AWD back. I think it would be better for autox or drag then drift...

hi
Well i joined the forum about a week ago so I guess I should at least introduce myself. My name is Mike, I am in the USAF. I just got back from Japan in Las Vegas now. I purchased my first DSM a week ago but I am not new to this engine. I had a couple of EVO1's in Japan, great cars, real fun to drive. The car I just picked up a 96 Eclipse with a blown head gasket (or that is what the guy I got it from said was wrong, I am leaning toward something else.) I hope to get some good info from this forum. Thanks for letting me join.
Mike

Hey guys new to dsm's geting my first today
hey guys i'm new to the forum i'm getting my first dsm its a 1990 eclipse GST 5speed i pretty much got this thing for free i did a bit of trading. but any who this is also my first car sorta i had a 96 jetta for like a month and sold it. but yeah the only thing wrong with it is that the turbo is screwed its seized and thay think the motor is blown only reason thay think that is cause it wont start. well since i'm kinda new to these cars not really new to the hole car deal just i'm not great with problems i have no idea about, should i pull the motor and tear it down to find out what is wrong with it and rebuild it or buy a new motor all together or could it be an easy fix? i'll have more info and pictures once i get it. i just thought i'd post up and try to get an idea of what i should do. i know i am gunna buy a 16g and a fmic so i ain't worryed about the seized turbo just lookin to get some input thanks guys.

1st. please use proper grammar . does the motor crank? I would go over the motor check all of the basics plugs, filters, injectors etc... . I would recommend a rebuild for any high mileage car that you plan on modifying.
Invest in a Haynes manual and start reading up on vfaq.net and the forums for information.
