My name is Jerrod... I'm 22 and I live in the ROC. For those who don't know what that is it's Rochester NY. I drive a 97 Eclipse GS-T and I'm in love with my car. It's my second child to my real child... but takes precidence over many things. I'm here to learn how to modify and customize my car the right way... I've read almost every thread, that has to do with my car, already. After my Hallman Pro RX Manual Boost controller install I hope to post my own thread as to my boost creep with my almost totally stock setup. If anyone can help me out with that please look for my thread and offer any good advice. Thanks!

Hi I'm john and I've been a lurker for a long time and have come back on in order to do more research on the 1st Gen DSM. Right now I have a lightly modified SRT-4 which I like but would like something with more traction (ahem AWD)
Hopefully I'll actually get one this time. Which will most likely happen if a person down the street from me can get the title for the car.

hey guys... I'm a newbie!!!
Hey everyone. My name is wade weppler.
I live in Minot North Dakota and i just bought myself a dsm a lil while back. I got a 1g Talon Tsi and about a month after i got it the thing shook a tit on me so I'm in the process of doing a rebuild. We are almost done and should be ready to turn the key tonight so I'm hoping all goes well. but hey doesn't the quote go "DSMs... turning regular people into mechanics since 1990," or something like that?? anyways, Talk to you later

Hey guys, just following protocal here. I've been around DSM for a while and owned just about every model/year. I just sold my evo which was pretty modded, street tune was 419whp on pump at 22psi with a stock engine, except for cams/cam gears and pretty much all the bolt ons. I ended up getting a 92 gsx and i am in the process of dissasembling it right now and building it up. There are a couple of other projects I got going on, but those are for other forums.
Either way I am just here to introduce myself and help out my fellow DSM'ers. For those other new forum members, I say welcome to the forum.

Hello, my name's Chris. I'm from a small little town in Pennsylvania called Benton. I drive a 96 Eclipse RS AUTO. She's my beater until I get the money to afford a 5 spd, 99 GSX, but atleast she sticks with the load of Hondas in my area for now.
Hopeing to learn a lot here, not really post though, just doing some research on the Turbo Engine to get to know it for next year when I get the GSX.

Oops. kinda forgot to do this first but better now then never, right?
Hola,
My name is Erik Burgess and I love cars.
I am an aspiring mechanic and student at Yuba College. I have taken every automotive course available to me up 'til now. I'm currently taking 2 auto classes every semester rocks:. And when I'm not at school, I'm working my butt off at The Muffler Shop in Yuba City.
My first love was an '89 BMW 325iS. Man that car was awesome. I did every inch of work on that car and I had alot of gofast stuff in that car. Not to forget, fully ugraded brakes . Well to make a long story short, I broke the tranny at 203k miles and took it apart and fixed it. It ran for another 3-5 months and broke again. So I was forced to sell her to a friend.
Well now I already had thoughts of buying a beater dsm for a 2nd car. Since my 1st car was gone, all my focus was pointed at DSMs . And here I am.

EDIT: lol, I forgot to mention I drive a '91 blue GS-T Manual. Oyea that's right, I'm keeping the stock rims. Its the new fad .

Introduction
Hey, I'm Cliff and I am from Wilson, NC. I am 21 years old and I have a career in business management. I just recently purchased my first dsm, a 95 Talon TSI FWD. I bought the car for a grand with 6 bent exhaust valves, jumped timing, broken balance shaft belt (the cause of all the problems), no battery, front clip busted on the front bumper, no passenger side door handle, and 1 lug nut on each wheel. The bottom end of the motor was rebuilt with overstock parts, the only good thing out of the deal. 2 months and fifteen hundred dollars later, I cranked her up for the first time this morning. I was not disappointed and look forward to modding.

Hey gang, long time lurker here. My name is Dennis, I live in Irvine CA. Just turned 29 a couple of days ago.
I own an 03 Evo right now. I've been in the market to get a 2g GSX for ages(im thinking of getting a spyder as well). I've had tons of cars in the past, but my heart will always be with the eclipse. Cheers.

New suspension set-up HELP!
I'm posting here because I'm new. If that's not right, please point me to where I should be.
97 Eclipse Spyder, N/T, widebody, Sweeeeet!
I just got my car back from EXTREME Motorsports in MD (shop of the famed racer Sean Glazer) and I have a few concerns that I didn't get a good feel about while at the shop.
They installed:
Koni - Yellows and Eibach Pro-kit. $1000 later I have a lower ride that rubs only on the driver side. All four corners look low, but the driver front is bad. In addition to the new set-up, I already had:
AEM Big Brake w/caliper relocation, 18inch HP Evo w/ 235/40ZR18 and (front) and 245/40ZR18 (rear)
Before the Strut/spring upgrade, I had stock struts with Cheap coil-over springs (Arospeed)which did not rub, but the ride was horrible. Now the ride is great but the occasional rub is hurting.
I am deffinately keeping the Konis I even stiffened the Driver's front and it helped, but I rub bad!
I was already advised to take a Dremmel to the kit in the wheel-well area, but I know the ride height is the top fix. If I can correct that, I'm at the 90% solution.
Bottom line, is there any way to raise the car or should I nix the Pro-kit and get (good) Coil-overs springs (SKUNK) to regain a bit of the height?
Thanks,
Mace
