I tried messing with the ECUFlash again and apparently when I'm actually reading from the ECU it works, but it wont write to it in a sense. Meaning it loads(writes) to it but the changes don't take effect. As far as saving it goes, apparently it just won't recognize it. Is the 98 ECU the black plastic one or is it only the 99 ECU's?

I would still like a little more info on this whole 2g knock situation, If the 2g ecu can read knock and I'm seeing counts of knock where my timing is scued on evoscan, then how do we know that its not reading knock?

Read The Basics of Tuning This will help figure it out. Basically If you are doing a run at wot and you notice the ecu pull timing then you are knocking alot. Evoscan does not acurately log knock counts. Its there. But mine always stays at 1. When I was running rich 10.0 - 10.3 it would pull timing. The most advance I could get was 16. Knock sensor voltage wasnt helping out either. You can tune with evoscan without knock. Knock count is nice to know. And maybe one day I'll fork it out for dsmlink. for now I will stay where I am.With all of the other variables known, esp if you have a wideband o2, you can sucessfully tune without it. Now if you want to squeeze every last bit of "safe" power out of your engine. DSMLINK all the way.

No.. because none of that has to do witht he screen it self.
Audio control is all software based (lots of free ware.. I use road runner)
Out puts for sub you just connect an RCA to mini jack which plugs intot he speaker port on the computer. and it goes off to your amps.
Its really easy.
step one:
Get a cheapish computer (Mine is built of parts I had lying around.. you dont need any thing fancy)
Step 2: Power
I used a DC-DC power supply, you can use an inverted but a power supply is the better choice.. they usually have built in Shut down/start up controller (it shuts down/turns on with turn of a key.. uses an ignition wire)
Step 3: Software
You want it to be userfriendly so you dont go through all of windows menus to play music. Road Runner is a free open source software which is fully skinable (If you go tot he mp3car.com forums there are more software listed there int he Front end section)
Thats basically it for a simple set up.
For more info go to MP3Car.com - Your source for mobile computing solutions! - Home and search the forums.

Did you select mitsubishi for the cable type? Did you buy their cable? Did you install all of the drivers? Baud rate should be 15625. Please be alittle more descriptive.

The cables works on the computers end. Drivers installed successfully, recognizes it when plugged into the usb port.
Yes "mistubishi" is checked for cable type.
Lowered baud rate to 1953 as someone suggested on here, tho i tried the default 15625 (also failed)
And yes i bought their cable from limitless
also while connecting,
first it says connecting at baud rate 5, then initializing, and then says initialzing complete. Then autoretrys to connect.

Odd.. Ok.. I assume you are using 2.1.. try uninstalling it... totally delete the directory. Because when you uninstall it, it still leaves the directories and some files. Then reinstall.

94-07 mitsu;s are supposed to be supported. I would goto the directory that it is installed in and reinstall the usb drivers and the microsoft framework 2.0 from microsoft's web site. AND if that doesnt work. Go out and shoot some people then come back and email evoscan@limitless.co.nz for help

Yup already emailed the guy. I wasnt in high hopes that the thing was going to work. I just thought i would try it to actually confirm it for those of us 95-96 guys. I think this speaks for itself. I'll fiddle around with it a little more and give you guys all the news.

Hopefully its good news for you 95-96 guys. Because it really is a better solution than pocketlogger. I remember seeing some kind of write up on using I think it was mitsulogger. I will check it out and get back.

Well, it shouldn't have been a waste of money, as 2.2 should be out very soon, and it claims to work w/ 2.2. I'm waiting for 2.2, then I'll try it out, but thanks for biting the bullet for us 95 dudes!!
