What are the major differences in the frame of the 3rd gen eclipse and 2nd gen eclipse other then length..

ok simple.. what if i wanted to put an 2 g engine, suspension and drive train into a 3g what would i have to do

Lots of fabrication.

It would take engine mounts, new exhaust, the 4g harness and ECU, probably all custom axles and driveshaft. Then finding a way to tackle the suspension since all mounting points are different. Im thinking AWD here. And there will be a lot more than that.

This would take a while to get to look and perform well. Not saying it cant be done but it will take some green $$$

i know somebody by me that had put an evo 9 motor in a 3g i know that bolts almost right up, its like the motor belongs there...he also put the breaks and wheels from an evo 8 and is in the process of doing an awd, very nice car!:dsm:

Its easier to do the swap with an EVO than to do it with a 2g. Both the EVO and the 3g are transverse engines to begin with and thats what makes it seem like it belongs there.
