Hey,
I just purchased a 1997 eclipse gst. The car came with the evo 3 turbo, with all supporting mods. The thing is the guy before me hasn't driven the car for a good 5-6 months (due to broken tranny). He had the car tuned before he stopped driving it, my question is Do I have to re-tune it when I get it started again? If so, Can i drive it on a regular basis without tuning it. I am going to tune it just not right off the bat. I am going to just commute to work and school, no racing. PLease let me know. THanks

You need to be a little bit more descriptive about what supporting mods the car has and also update your profile before we can offer proper advice as to whether it needs a re-tune or not. It would also be helpful to know what kind of boost levels you'll be running.

Andy

I listed the mods on my profile but here they are

EVO 3 big 16g
Greddy intake
k&n filter
Hard piping
Greddy FMIC
HKS bov
550 injectors
225 hot wired pump
Afc
boost controller
2.5 in turbo back
2.5 in exhaust piping

HKs cam gears
Lsd rebuilt tranny
Act stage2 clutch (2400?)

18 psi

and me, i give it 50 hp

Yeah you will need a FPR, the stock one is designed to handle the amount of flow that the 255 pump will give. I would double check what he means by "Tuned" for all you know he was running really really lean or rich. I would spend the money and have the car dynoed/tuned just to see where it is at now. The setting shouldn't have changed because the car sat; but you never know what his tune was without redoing it.
