Well, seeing as you don't have your profile filled in or any mention of what car you have, we obviously can't help you pick a kit.
Yes, the thread's long, but there is some very good information in here. I'd suggest doing your best to read what you can.

There's so many different kits out there that I think it'd be hard to do that. But a few searches in the forums or in this thread should be able to get people some good results.

I purchased a 24x12x3 from ebay from CXRacing and it works fine. I like it and it wasn't too costly.

I don't know if this has been asked, but can the bumper rest against the FMIC? I am trimming mine right now. I want it to rest against the IC to help the bumper not sag and I like the look with no gaps, but is this ok? The IC won't get that hot right?

I would like to reiterate the importance of the above statement. Where does one get the driverside drop J-Pipe? Would it be easier to "clock" the j-pipe? Linksys, what did you end up doing? I'm in the same boat right now. Can you post some pix of your final install? That'd be awesome. Thanks!

Does anyone run a ssac fmic w/ a smim? Any way to get the ssac uicp to bolt up to the smim? I tried for a little while yesterday and tried w/ the stock elbow but didn't have much luck with something that would line up properly.

Got mine from XSPower last year, it's huge and blocks the radiator bad though. The short route piping is awsome! Nice enough t-bolt clamps, decent couplers too.

I'm literally at the point that I'm wondering if stepping to a real intercooler will net some changes/gains. Who knows.

I can get you some pics of my bumper when I take it off in about 2 days.
It's already cut for the 24x12x3 intercooler.

i purchased a jdm fmic from ebay and havent had any problems with it. It seems to work great. The colds side always is cool to the touch. i don't like the routing of the pipe, but that can be modified. I'd say its worth the money.

I am also looking into buying an ebay fmic. I am purchasing a 14b from a friend of mine for cheap and i was wondering if a 24x12x3 size is too big ? If it is what would be a decent size for a turbo that size ? Also i dont plan on boosting more than 18 psi.
