i checked the gap on my spark plugs today and they were at around .04 in. and my car is running fine. ### would some symptoms be of having the gap larger than its spossed to be? bad gas mileage, plugs wont last as long
Under high load, the spark may not be able to make the jump, which puts a really nasty load on your coils.
A plug won't change its gap that much, did you gap them wrong to start with?
yea... i didnt have the right gapping tool, but now i do... i really asked the question to see if its was worth adjusting the gap(since the car was running fine) or just leaving it alone... thanks for the responses
