Should I get a Chromolly Flywheel or a Fidanza Aluminum?

Im looking into getting a new flywheel and I wasnt sure which one to go with. I found a few fidanza aluminums for cheap but I know there is something called chromolly...Whats the difference and what makes which one better than the other? Its for a FWD 91

I never tried the aluminum

When I replaced my clutch years ago there weren't many options for lighter flywheels. It was pretty much Fidanza or stock. Fidanzas were expensive! I sourced out a Jun lightweight cromoly flywheel! I spent as much as I would have with the Fidanza. It's heavier than the Fidanza but much lighter than the stock flywheel. I have put 45k on ti and I have had no problems. I haven't heard a thing about the flywheel in ages so I don't know if they even still make it. Now if i were to redo the clutch and flywheel I would go with the ACT without a doubt. Then the only question is which act to go with? Streetlite or? I didn't and still don't trust a aluminum puck style flywheel friction surface. And damn it all if clutch and flywheels aren't way less expensive now!!!

I'd go with steel.

I'd go with the traditional steel flywheel. So what if its lighter, it's stronger then alum and chromolly.

If you are replacing the clutch you might as well replace the clutch fork, throw out bearing, and pivot ball. Unless of course you want to take the transmission out again later when you have to replace one of them due to wear or breakage.

My reply from the other thread: I have an ACT and would reccomend it. I won't use an aluminum flywheel like the fidanza because of the metal being to soft. This allows the bolts to back out and the flywheel to warp when abused too much.
