2G-specific Eclipse Taillight Center Section

For those of you who have put a light in your taillight center section...

How in the world did you get that silver paint off of the red lens? I tried using paint remover and it kinda worked...but the rest of the lens got covered in grey-ish goo from the leftover paint :-( Now it looks like crap so I probably need to buy a new one, but that'll come with the silver paint, too...so how did you get it off?

Also, I got my new LED rod to light up...but you need to be in a pitch black cave to even see it! I hooked up the positive to the centermost green/white wire on teh drivers side tail, and the negative to the ground screw under the trunk latch...any suggestions?

i've seen many eclipse's with the center bieng just a flat color, are those seperate things that are sold? or do people just paint the center tail light...i have carbon fiber euro tail lights, but the center makes it look retarted. so i wanted to just get a black center.

some people paint their center piece, some people use a durable vinyl decal sheet to match their car........www.rkgrafix.com/mitsuSUB.html.

I would like to use vinyl from rkgrafix.com but my car's color is barcelona red pearl metallic and they don't have that exact color.

This is why I'm trying to mod my center piece. I want the word eclipse to light up and not the whole center piece to light up.

This would cause only the word eclipse to be illuminated and not the whole back piece.

2G-specific

i have a black car, and you can even see in those pictures that the cetner strip does not match the color of the car, i dont want that. im looking for a professional look, not a "spent some extra money to make my car look better" look.

dremel with a sanding or grinding attachment does work and I was able to get the silver paint off but it took some time.

Do those have the key hole also? or it'll be covered by the vinyl? I might pick one up
