Halloween was great- a little cold....I think Halloween night it was 38* here; I had two parties to attend on two different nights. Definitely exhausting! Now it's back to work- I have a couple turbos to rebuild tonight, and I'm in the process of assembling my FWD's engine as well. Fun stuff! What's new with you?
Yes dealerships are a complete rip off. But I just couldn't live without this car :)
161 is not bad, I'm getting close to that, I think I am at like 140 or something.
Boost leaks suck. I have a few to fix myself. I picked up the throttle body shaft seals but have yet to change them out. I also had a leak around the BOV area, but I removed the type S, put a new gasket and silicone type stuff and I think it fixed it. I have yet to test it because I have been crazy busy with my new job.
It's always nice to have a local person for assistance, especially if they have a hook up on parts ;) Lol.
The offer will always be standing :) If and when you come, hit me up for my number and you can take her for a spin. Break it? I don't think so, Lol She has been built pretty sturdy :) Haha
About the traffic, it is always nice to have an auto for heavy traffic but I have never lived in real big cities, so manual for ME!! :)
Yea I was really stoked to get this car. It sucks, because I found out after he had traded it in to a dealer for an Evo 8. I contacted the dealer and the guy said they were going to strip off the performance parts and revert back to stock so his son could dd it, (his first car). I called a couple months later and the guy said he was ready to sell it (Prob abused the hell out of it) said he would let it go for 8K. It's bullshit because my buddy said he only got like 3K trade in value!!!
But being the sucker for these cars that I am, I went to the bank and got a hefty loan and 2 days later I was driving it home :). I sometimes wish I just would have waited and got an Evo, but then I slap myself and go for a drive and realize I made a good choice ;).
Wow, You said it in the last message, "It got totalled 4 months after I bought it". I'm such an idiot, I completely spaced when writing you back Lol. At least the knee fully healed :). I've had it for 2 1/2 years now.
The neat thing about my car is, I bought it from a friend of mine who had traded his brother his beamer for the Gsx. There family was super rich and always took crazy good care of it, always took it to top of the line race mechanics just for simple things like oil changes, spark plugs lol.
If you ever find yourself in Tx, Maybe you could take her for a drive ;)
Aww, I'm sorry to hear that :(. What year did it get totalled? That sucks about your knee did it fully heal?, so it must have been a GS? If it had no turbo.
Travis always had tons of personality, that's for sure. I used to stand by his mom at rider's meetings so I could copy her race order because I write too slow.
The biggest-name freestyle rider who I raced with locally is Dan Pastor. He and I literally started racing at the Westmoreland County Fairgrounds 1 week apart from each other. Back then we were both on Honda CR80's competing in the 80cc 12-13 class...I was #48 and he was #8.
Whenever I stepped up to a big bike, my first was a RM125 and I bought nothing but Suzukis from then until I quit racing. I still have my RM125 and 250 from the season I got hurt. I refuse to ride a 4-stroke....I HATE them, actually.
The ankle was my 9th break, and it was by far the worst. I spent nearly 6 months on my ass not being able to put weight on my left foot until it healed. But yes, if you race motocross there's a good chance you're going to get hurt!
That's where the 141 in my name comes from....it was my racing number since 1995. I grew up racing with local guys who went pro like Branden Jesseman, Travis Pastrana, and Broc Hepler. I live three miles from Steel City Raceway in Delmont, which for years has been the last stop on the AMA National Circuit. Many Championships were won and lost there in that last race of the season!
I loved racing. If I could go back and do it again I wouldn't hesitate....but after I destroyed my ankle in '04 my bikes are now outdated and I'm horribly out of condition. It would take a whole year of serious commitment to get back into it, and I just don't have the time. I did meet some excellent people, and there's no feeling like flying 50' through the air six inches away from the guy you're competing with!
