110-116 octane race gas vs E85 I know there is pluses and minuses could you fill me in and I am going to get my car dyno tuned when it is done.

My stepdad and my understanding was more octane means more flamable and power/pressure which would result in more heat(my thought) As for E85 my thought was it burned cooler which resulted in more hp for higher turbo efficiency but with you guys on here plus me googling around proves to be a different logic to this could you do me a favor brother and explain how this all works in a pm.
