I have one. Ported by FP. It flows alot for the price. Depending How much you want to spend. If I had the money I'd sell my evo3 and get a victory perfomance O2 Chrome. Much Flow and Much Bling. :D

:edit: Fitment caused my DP to sit right up against the T-Case on my AWD. FWD will be different.

Later,

OR, if you really want to spend some $$$ ($700) like I did you can get the one that Extreme sells w/ the 40mm Tial. :) J/K LOTS of bling w/ that one though!

I'd also say try VP's. I've heard good things about theirs. But the evo ported will do you fine too. So many choices! :)

I am interested in whether or not this will rub with a FWD because at this point the stock 1g o2 housing is my only exhaust restriction. Has anyone ran an E3 O2 housing on a FWD?

what DP works with the evo 02 housing?

As far as I know RRE is the only place that makes a dp that will bolt up to the evoIII housing and fit "properly"

The evoIII housing can be bolted to most downpipes, you normally need to file the holes in the downpipe slightly since the evoIII housing has slightly larger bolt spacing but it isn't recommend, since it exits on a different angle its hard on the flex section.

I don't personally have the VP O2 housing but I have the fmic kit and the quality is amazing, I'm sure they put the same effort in everything they build. When I descide to get a new O2 housing it will more then likely be VP :thumb:

Yes RRE is the only company that I know of that makes downpipes for the Evo3 o2 housing. Here are the pics of different angles:

Another option is the EVO Style o2 eliminator that www.122performance.com sells for $195
"EVO style" 02 eliminator (2.5” with tie-in, for internal gates) - We made this piece as a direct replacement of 90-99 stock 02 housings. By the time you buy a EVO housing and have it ported, it will cost more, and the angle of the EVO outlet along with bolt distance is different than your factory 02, which could cause fitment problems."

I have the E3 O2 housing on my 90 Laser FWD. The fit is better than an AWD car because FWD's have more room in the center tunnel- no driveshaft, no transfer case. Just rotate the DP slightly and it will bolt up no problem.

I had an evo 3 housing with my exhaust from Rnr. It fit great w/o hitting the xfer case.

NOTE: ANY downpipe with a slotted flange will work!!! The flex piece in your exhaust will allow enough twist for it to bolt up. If your DP has a slotted flange it will bolt up. Its a great product for the price :thumb: Flows alot for the money.

Great! thanx :thumb: .

I have the Evo3 O2 and with my apexi 3" downpipe it hit the transfer case and caused the rear flange on the cat back to hit the drive shaft whenever you would back up. This rubbing eventually led to one of the back hangers on the muffler to break off. I recently put the RRE 3" downpipe on and it is a beautiful fit and no more rubbing anywhere, highly recomend the Evo o2 housing and RRE's downpipes :thumb:

That reminds me, the exhaust hangers can easily be bent to make room if it's rubbing or tapping against something. To me, the hangers are adjustable. Just use a large adjustable wrench to bend the hangers up, down, left or right. You can make a lot of odd stuff fit that way. For example, my FWD car has the Evo3 O2 housing, an AWD downpipe, and a 3" FWD catback. It took some work, but it all fits nicely now.

I have the evo mani, evo turbo and evo 02 housing with 3" el cheapo Monza DP and everything bolted up fine. No rubbing for me.
