Hey everyone, I am trying to get my hands on a GS-T or GSX and it seems that they are all autos around here. What are some of the draw backs if any. The fun factor is clear as I now drive an M6 Z28. How much slower are they and do they have any common troubles?
Thanks for your input Sam

Daniel what hav'nt you done to your car? So as far as brake boosting goes can you really launch an auto better than a 5 speed. What kind of stall speed does it have on the converter, you couldn't spin all 4 tires doing that could you?

HuMm well thats not my Auto just a site that i came across.. Ive ridin im by buddys auto and the way he launched he held down the break and gave it gas and while he did that he quickly builds 7-8 pounds of boost then launches.. dont really know the specifics but thats what i seen him do..

Wouldn't that mess up the tranny???

an aftermarket torque converter would let you do that with much higher rpms without damaging anything.. dont ask me where to find one or anything.. im just quoting what my friend who has a turbo 240sx (auto) says..

I have a a/t 97 talon tsi. As far as i know they are pretty staout stout transmissions. I do however recommend not thrashing them though( downshifting & switching in & out of o/d while moving fast. Definately need to service it every 30,000 mi. Check out www.dunriteconverters.com. They have high stall converters, shift kits, & end clutch kits for these cars.

There is a yahoo group just for Auto DSMs. IT is a really good group to be on. Lots of information.

hey dannyboy, just to mention about the torque stalling in your buddies auto... my budy has a msd on his w/ the launch control on it so he can build boost as well, and its adjustable in 100 rpm increments =)
