Engine Help

So I pulled my valve cover after my engine started making noise. I was told a possible spun bearing. I have yet to pull the oil pan (Weather) yet. But taking a magnet (style you get dropped bolts) I put it in the area where I found oil pools under the cams and moved it around when I took it out I found metal (not chunks) but fine gold and silver color it wasn't a lot but I found it in different areas of the engine. My timing belt looks fine and everything else in that department looks good nothing looks bent or broken. I've been told it could be a few things. I don't have a lot of money to spend right now so opinions would be great and I was told if it was a spun bearing I would have to yank the engine. But I was also told I could replace the bearings with the engine still inside if the crank wasn't scored or damaged

I wouldnt chance it i spun a rod bolt not fun i pulled the engine and polished the crank would pull the engine so much easier i think. Do it once and right versus oh maybe the crank is ok, or you could wait until funds are available pull the engine takes me a day, i just get into it and yank it out.

I have a friend who has a shop will do everything 20 hours. I found a complete engine kit for $329, and a spare crank for $30. Plus a stock mitsu head gasket $100 and ARP studs So I'd be around $1700

Thats bit of cash for all that pulling it is easy, and the install too free labor takes a day depends on skill though.

You have no idea what you will find untill the engine is out and tore apart.

There's no way I'd run it, even with a new bearing, until that engine has been torn down, cleaned, and rebuilt. Metal in the oil system would possibly ruin it pretty quick
