I think I know where pangburn is, I was riding with one of my buddies and we went through there on the way to his sisters house. And I'll have to look that place up! I do love frog legs!
It seems that "taking it to the shop" is my real dad's only solution, he just doesn't know what a dsm is like! So I'm just gonna start getting my hands dirty! Although I got suckered into helping a guy go get his old wheels back from a guy. He says he will probably give me his 17"s. which would make the way my car rides a heck of a lot better. I'm pretty used to using YouTube to figure stuff out, so that'll be pretty nice to have.
And I think the shop he wants to take it to would have absolutely no idea. They were confused about the clutch on the svt, bobby. Double edged flywheel!? On this!? Haha!

Lmao, in the mood to part some things out? Sounds like you're quitting before you actually become a DSMer.
What problems are you having with the car overall?

Double edge flywheels are right up there with low blinker fluid and wood intercooler brackets.

I said to Spencer right before he bought it and i quote ( that looks like the worlds most molested car, you don't need that car) and guess what he bought it. Sometimes when you have a car that has been molested like that one and only went two- three weeks before it slung a rod through the block it had a hard life. The transmission grinded. When we pulled the motor the clutch was smoked to nothing I can't believe he even drove it. I was really surprised at the way the new motor has taken it's toll. I know Spencer never got to drive it more than a mile cause all of the problems he had out of it. It's all practically new parts.

No offense to anyone who owned it before, but when I went to take a look at it, it looked like the worlds most molested car. Not exaggerating a bit. I've never seen a car torn apart and rigged together like that one was. I couldn't believe it.

I hear ya. The wiring is gawd awful in that car. Most of it was from the original owner. (I take responsibility for some, especially the tailight situation.) But when you work and go to school, have to ride a bike in the summer, rain, winter. And frustrating problem after.the other. Yeah I took some shortcuts my self. And also not knowing a whole lot about the car. It happened.
Brandon i know the ac don't work, but I am pretty sure it could just be the fan that's busted. No sense in freezing in the winter when that's all it is. I think the talons got one, not sure if it works.

The "Daily Drive Diagnosis" problem is one that gets many a DSMer's to quite, although many return years later once that they a reliable DD. I went through this same issue with my last GST. It was my weekend track car and my DD, I was consistently blowing water pipes off for some reason and spent more time on jackstands than on it's own 4 wheels. After frustration with having to find rides when it was down for repairs I sold it off (for a loss unfortunately) and then eventually ended up with a reliable DD. Now that I have my GSX as a PURE weekend toy that can stay stripped down as long as it needs to do things RIGHT I have a lot more fun with the car and much less frustration.
Having to rig things together quickly to get to work the next day is what causes these "molested" cars and tends to lead to quick project part-outs...
Good luck with the car and hopefully things work out, but I don't recommend a modified DSM for a DD not matter how many people tend to DD their own. A stock DSM is decently reliable and shouldn't cause to many problems but once you start messing around with things it gets iffy.

+1. That's why I am waiting till I pay some bills off before I start on the 97 that's sitting in my yard. My wife wants to sell her truck and DD my cutlass, leaving me to fix the eclipse, but #### that! I do enjoy a smooth ride and air con.

It sounds like that car has been through some shit. Did that car come from Pangburn by chance? If so, it was on craigslist -forever-. I looked at it a few times thinking it was savable but something just pushed me away from it. If it's the same one then.. well, I'm glad I didn't pick it up. x.x; Poor car.
If someone wants to foot the bill, I'll do the labor. She'd be running in no time.
On another note - Anyone want to buy a Revised 7 bolt block + Crank + OFH? I'm going to do nothing with this one and shipping is a pain. $200 can take it. Just needs a good .020 bore and you're good.

Ahh! I knew it was familiar. It had originally "had something dropped down a spark plug hole." That's what the owner kept telling me.
