i have a 1st gen that i want to put a cage into. i go to wyotech in PA and have all the tools and power to build the cage. i just wanted to see some pics of people who put them in their cars or know a company that has pics of them installed in a car. thanks alot

nice job, just wondered if you have anymore pics of it. like where you welded it to the chassis. also are the bars by the front doors too close to the driver. is it hard to get into the car?

I've sat in Nick's car and it was snug to say the least. Made you feel like part of the car. Getting in and out wasn't the easiest thing I've ever done in my life and I'm only 5'10" @ 155lbs. I imagine a lot of that had to do with the aftermarket seats though.:) I look forward to putting a cage in my car, mainly because it will mean that I've hit my 1/4mile goal with the car to run 11's. :D

You think it was hard for you:confused: Trying climbing in and out when you're as big and fat as I am. (6'4, 225lbs):thumbdown Anyways, I'll see if I can dig up some more detailed pics of Nick's cage install points, etc.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say this is Todd. :p Since your brother is my size how the hell did you end up so big?

No clue as to where the size comes from. I'm the tallest on my dad's side of the family. My uncle on my mom's side is 6'5, but otherwise I'm just the gangly kid. Oh yeah and that seat in drake's car.............well lets just say its meant for those with like a 28 inch waist not a 36 inch waist.......:thumbdown

That's all I have right now.

The main hoop baseplates are welded to the floor right where the pan goes up to the rear seats.
The rear links are welded to the shock towers. There is a spot on the floor where you can see a bolt holding down a stud for the rear subframe (right up behind the seat), that would probably be a better location.
The front bars are welded in at the end of the rock panel, near your feet.

The front bars are as far out as possible with stock door panels. They actually almost hit the door panel, I have cut outs in my padding in that area.

For me, not at all. For everyone else that has ever tried, yes. I guess you just get used to it after a while. This is my daily driver too BTW.

I swear at every dsm meet my drivers seat is like a pony ride when you were a kid. I ought to start charging to sit in it, "step right up, see would sitting a car that's legal for 11s, yet has a freakin 14b on it feels like!". I'll be able to afford a new turbo ;)

There's one more to add for pictures of the rear. It's quite easy for me to fit and pretty damn comfortable too. Since I'm 6'0" and 155 lbs. quite different build than my brother Todd...
