Well, I'm a professional lurker on this board. It's hard to find topics that haven't already been thoroughly covered. :D

I have put on a Quwhees Widebody kit on my wife's car. I didn't really like it at first... but now that it's on and COMPLETELY molded... I am seriously in love.

Here's the problem. I have about 3" lateral gap in the rear tire wells and about 2" in the front. I have called the kit manufacturer, amd looked at articles with DSMs that have this bodykit. They all say I need 18x9.5 (or 18x9) front 18x10 rears to fit the wheel well. The problem is, my wife wants them to look like the stock rims as much as possible. 5 spoke star chrome.

I CAN'T FIND ANY!!

That's not completely true. I found the RO_JA Formula 5's, but they'll run be 2500 without tires. They also only come in 19x9 and 19x10... which may or may not fit... Anyone know?

What sort of offset will I need if I need to push the rims out that far to the edge of the fenderwells?

I have heard of people using Mustang Cobra rims and even brakes on DSMs... anyone have any info?

Can anyone help? We need to get this badboy show worthy. Pretty much all we need is the rims/tires. I'm begging!!

Ok, let’s look at your problem logically. You have a three-inch air space you wan to fill with rubber. You don’t really need to fill all three inches, shoot for two.

2” = 50mm

So you need around a 255 series tire to get two more inches of rubber. The problem is with the normal amount of offset; one of those inches would be further into your wheel well with only one inch sticking out where you want it. Of course the wheel wouldn’t fit anyway because it would be trying to occupy the same space as your suspension components and other necessary bits. To get all that wider rubber to stick out further you would need to subtract the 50mm from the stock offset. That would mean changing from a normal offset of 40mm to –10mm.

Let me know if actually try it. I want to invest some money in companies that makes wheel bearings.

You could fit the 255’s on 8.5 or 9 inch wheels.

That's what the backspace is for... to push the rim farther out laterally. Instead of changing the offset, I'd opt for the backspace to save money.

if you change the backspacing, you change the offset. unless you want to get into thickening the center section and lengthening the studs.

i cant comment on where to get wheels for this other then custom wheels ($$$$$$) because i havent looked. i am sure if its the same bolt pattern as a mustang, you can find any offset in the world for it if you look hard enough.

I know spacers are dangerous for racing, but for show it should be ok... at least temporarily. Where could I find some?

actually spacers are great for racng...but as far as your size, it may be overkill.. but i would just use spacers

I would stay away from the spacers and longer studs and go with "wheel adapters". Usually they are used to go from 4 to 5 lug or just different bolt patterns, but you can get them for the same bolt pattern. I put 1.5" on the rear of mine. Yours may be different depending on the wheels. My 18s stick out more than stock rims did. Let me know if you need more info and I will see if I can find the invoice.

try RH wheels,u ncan order them with any Offset....
