It was that time to get rid of my 98 GSX stock wheels. Nothing wrong with them, I like how they look, but man are they heavy! I looked at a few of them and decided to go with a gunmetal center with polished lips. I also debated whether to go with 17s again or 18s this time, but that was an issue of weight and would be decided when the wheels are in front of me.

I went to the wheel store with my bro Prodigy and we went through 2 hrs of selecting rims from the shelves and sitting them next to the car to have a visual idea of what they would look. I liked 5Zigens Copse in hyperblack, but they did not have 18s at that time. I did not want Taiwanese made rims so it negated almost half of the ones on the shelves. Work Wheels look cool and some mesh type varieties. I set my eyes on the Volk GT-7s on 18 just coz of the look but the guy told me they have something even better in the back and it is the only one they have. He also stated that they are not released stateside by Mackinindustries so they're pretty rare. He showed me the Gram Lights 57F-Pro-Cs and I liked them alot. They are light as hell, and the 5-spoke design (like a Corvette) is my favorite. They also are a 2-piece design so the hex screws/rivets are functional and not just for looks.

The feeling of new shoes for the GSX is so different from stock. The wheels are so light, steering is less of an effort now with the 225/40-18 rubbers. I also had Espelir coils and AGX shocks installed plus a 4 wheel alignment. To compliment this setup, Im planning for a big brake kit coz the small rotors look anemic. Sitting next to my Hardtop Vette, it looks really small - only drawback with a 5 spoke wheel.

Pics of the car to follow.

those are badd ass...i to like the gt7.. but i think im going with ethier the velox pg-5s...or your rims are looking mighty tempting..LOL..but im just curious how much they ran you.

fastalon: I always had like the GT-7s and would had bought them if I had not seen these. I was looking for good looks and light weight and I found both in this wheel. I wanted the 5Zigen Copse but they are heavy (17s). The GT-7 is still one of the best looking out there and I may pick that up for another car. Another 5 spoke I wanted was the Volk F1 Challenge. I paid a premium price but you always get what you pay for - up close, these wheels even look better.

igs: I believe it's 43 or 47, i just gotta verify that later when i get home.

I have a few more pics on my gallery.

As a matter of fact, I'm just waiting for my cross-drilled/slotted rotors for the GSX. After that, i'll post them together in my gallery.

Thanks for the compliments guys. A nice set of rims do set your car apart from the crowd.
