Does the Evo and EclipseGSX have the same drivetrain 4x4 system?

I know the Evo and Eclipse turbo has the same engine, but what about the 4x4 system and the rest of the car?

Only thing in common between the two are the engine. But even on the later models of the EVO, the engine is slightly different as well.

it's not really a 4x4 system... it's all-wheel drive. four-wheel drive is a selectable dealie, and the diagonally opposing wheels are driving... with awd, you've actually sorta got three drive-wheels, the two in the back (it's really just one, but the LSD puts power to the other one when needed), and the passenger-side front (front dif is open). and it's full-time. and you can shift power around as needed. awd > four-wheel drive. =)

but yah, the evo is absolutely nothing like the dsm. even the engine is really different... if you look at the engine of an evo 8, it's kinda backwards. the turbo is still up front, but the transmission (looking at it from the front of the car) is on the right, and the timing belts and such on the left (opposite of the DSMs). the cams are hollow, the turbo's a weird twin-scroll deal, etc. very different engine...

...but even the new ones have valve-tick! haHA! it IS a 4g63! =)

Yer close. Try www.pirate4x4.com for a real explanation. BTW, any 4 wheel drive system worth its weight in shyte has LSD front and rear. And no, AWD is not better than 4WD, they're too different to compare (on road vs off road).

Evo8 has open front, lsd center, lsd rear. So does GSX.
