Ok bear with me on this, I know almost nothing.

My front right strut is doing some weird stuff, my mechanic recommended I just finish my performance suspension now (I have KYB AGX shocks in the rear, and an eibach pro kit). So I'm about to buy some tokico illuminas, but they seem to be shocks only. Where do I get new front struts?

Also, are tokico illuminas a smart choice for the front? Or would matching up and getting KYB AGX be a better way to go?

My mechanic told me that the strut was inside/underneath the strut (?!), and that just replacing the shock isn't smart. So now I'm all confused, since nobody sells front struts for a 2gnt.

First, a piece of advice is to ditch your mechanic because he is talking out of his ass.

Second, I thought I already answered this for you. I even gave you the correct part number for the front AGX's. It doesnt matter if they are shocks or struts. You have the part number, go buy it and have it installed. I don't understand what is so confusing.

If someone tries to tell you the AGX's are bad for 2G's dont listen. KYB has re-engineered the shock and it works fine now. The previous part number had a longer shock body so they didnt lend themselves to be used with lowered cars, that is no longer the case.

Are the new KYBs better/worse than the tokico illuminas?

They are comparable to the Illuminas. Since you already have the rears I would just stick with AGX's for the front as well.

You know a good place I can get them cheap? alamomotorspots.com has them for a good price, you know of anywhere cheaper?
