i just installed my front 2 maxspeed coilovers on the stock shocks just until my agx's come, but the car wont go lower than stock even when its on the lowest setting......i installed them according to the directions included but still not lowering.....any one with coilovers please respond.....thanx

i dont have coilovers but i dont think the stock shocks will allow you to go lower than the stock ride height.even if you were to cut the springs or install in your case coilovers.when you get the agx's check the legnth of the shock itself,i do beleive the stock shock is longer.

Let me know how you like the Maxspeed coilovers, I was thinking of getting them.

Just a quick question... on the stock shocks, what did you do on the top of the shock, where the metal housing sits near the top of the dust cover. the one that looks like a little bell housing. did you cut it off or fit them around it?

Shocks move up and down. That's what they do. They will not support the weight of a car and 'stop the springs' from lowering the ride. However if you go to low and are outside the operational range of the shocks, they will ride like crap and blow out on you sooner than later.

Remember the springs support the weight of the car, the shocks control the springs and hence, the shocks are what give you a smooth ride.

I have them on my car and they're decent for the price. I found the rear springs to be too stiff though, so I replaced them with 350lb./inch springs and the ride is much better now.
