Where do I start?

So this is the first time I've been in the handling tech and I have no clue where to start. Ive got the go fast parts but now I want to focus on some handling. I really want to drop it because i can't stand the wheel gap, so what do i need? coilovers? I'm not looking to spend a grand on teins but want something cheap and reputable. any help? thanks
