currently i'm running stock evo 8 wheels which are 17x8 & I believe has a +35mm offset
The tires that I'm using right now are 235/45/17 (no rubbing)

i'm in the market for a 16x8 wheel.
i found a wheel which is 16x8, 5x114.3 lug pattern, with a +37 offset
does anyone know if the offset would have clearance issues with a 245/45/16 tire?

Are you planning or running the same brand/type of tire (as actual sizes can vary slightly from brand to brand)? What kind of clearance do you currently have? Depending on this, you should fairly easily be able to figure out if the new setup will fit.

The new setup will pull the tires in 2mm & your tire will be wider by 5mm on both sides, so the tire will stick out 3mm further towards the fender & 7mm towards the knuckle. Looks like overall they will be a smaller diameter (worked out to something like 24.7 for the new setup vs 25.3 for the old), so need to take this into consideration as well.

It sounds like you'll probably be pretty close to the knuckle, so you may have to run a spacer but it probably is "doable"

For the record EVO VIII, IX, and MR all have 17x8 with 38mm offset. You should not have a problem since a 245/45/16 has a smaller circumference than a 235/45/17. I have 245/40/17 with a 35mm offset and I can fit my whole index finger between the tire and the control arm, unless your 245 are extremely wide you should not have any problems.
