i got a 98 gst with a 14b, i have the stock wheels and tires. my tires are fried, i have bad traction issues. i'm broke. i have 750.00 credit at the local tire place. i was thinking of getting some 16x7 motegi mr7's in gunmetal. first of all, performance wise, (because that's what concerns me the most) would a set of those with some 225-50-16 tires be a good combo? the wheels are 20 lbs. but i cant find out how much my stock chrome wheels weigh anywhere. just an "estimate". let me know what you guys think. also, even though looks aren't that important to me, would the 16's just look too small and stupid? i'm going for the widest tread, for most contact surface area, and the lightest cheapest wheel. pics of any motegis on a silver 2g would be nice too if you got any. i'm not really dead set on the mr7's they're just cheap. thanks.

WHAT?? dude. if you dont know what you're talking about dont even reply. 245s on the stock SIX inch wide wheel??? i don't think so.
Well, he admitted that he didn't know...

Does anyone know where I can find the best size tire for my stock wheels in Kuhmo MX tires.

i just got Kumho Ecsta 712's in 215/50/16 and it think this size it perfect for the stock rim. It still retains basically the same height and they are wider without going too wide.

stock 2g rims are like 24 lbs. Don't get the motegi's, if you do you might as well get a blitz body kit b/c everyone has em......

If I'm not mistaken, I saw somewhere on vfaq that the stock 2g rims were like 19lbs.
Look into some Rota's, pretty affordable and pretty light:

or

The slipstreams are a good basic 5star pattern, but only 13.5lbs for 16's and $125 a piece. None too shabby.
