Im in the market for an aftermarket ignition. Digging through the forums, cant really decide what works the best for our cars. But Im leaning towards a Dynatek Arc-2. Dont care for C.O.P. unless it can possibly provide a gain.

What setups are you running and why do you think it works for you?

The company told me that they still have quite a few left but they are getting a lot of orders for it.

I have no idea how well it works or why they will no longer be offering them. If you don't have ECMlink and need an RPM activated switch you may want to consider this before they are no longer available.

Today I had the great idea. So I began to look at the idle switch schematics. When the throttle plate is open, the idle switch should receive system voltage via the green wire coming into it. It however does not receive voltage with the throttle plate closed, which makes things tricky.

The thermosensor in the bottom of the radiator is a simple switch, there is no load(amperage), or voltage. The sensor simply heats up to close it's internal contacts and completes the circuit for the cooling system relay(s) to feed power to the fans.

Since the thermosensor is a simple switch I'm hesitant to just splice into the IPS wire. I would like to somehow incorporate a relay into both systems so that when the throttle plate closes the fans kick on yet also have a manual switch to kick on the fans while in slow traffic (stop and go).

I currently just ran two wires from the thermosensor connector and tossed my thermosensor(it was junk anyway). I then fed the two wires to a simple rocker switch in-cabin to manually turn on the fans when I want and if I remember to.

Open to ideas here but please don't reply if you don't have a basic understanding of whats going on here. Thanks guys!

Edit* found a good thread that might have some helpful info/hints. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/arti...y-removed.html

I've been battling with idle surge for quite some time now. I threw in a new ISC, and it still surged for about 2 weeks, and then it was good. I took out the throttle body and replaced the seals, still no progress. I can't feel any air getting by the BISS screw either. If I was to just buy a replacement throttle body that didn't have idle surge, would that guarantee to fix the problem? I know idle surge is caused by air getting past it. I can get my hands on a new throttle body for pretty cheap. Just want to make sure this is what I'm looking for. Thanks in advance.

Anywho recuirc'd the bov again but still have this issue:

Car drove great today first test run after new injector o-rings and bov vented. Just parked it not too long ago and it's running rough (thing sounds like a subaru). Anywho my biggest issue is that the car came with 450s instead of 390s. Secondly it will throw a cel and go into limp mode randomly. I knew it would run like crap, but this bad with 450s? Also why would it throw a code randomly rather than stay on all the time?

I have been trying to find a MBC or any type of boost controller that does not have a leaking system. If you have a high pressure wastegate or actuator and do not require another form of boost control, more power to you. But, for those of us that use a MBC to dial in our boost, this could help save some valuable pressurized air. Now I know that the majority of boost controllers do not leak a lot of air, but they all leak air, and no leak is better then a leak.

There is a hole on any MBC that relieves pressure after the MBC closes. This pressure is relieved after the MBC so that the wastegate does not stay open when you shift, this causes slow spool as you guys already know. So first thing you want to do is seal that hole shut because the leak free system at the bottom will take over its job, without leaking ofcourse.

This is the way I am going to run my MBC because I want to push my setup to its full potential. When I just blow into the MBC, that hole leaks a lot of air, and that is amplified greatly when you add real pressure.

I hope this helps people get rid of a leak that we have all learned to live with for a long time. Feel free to ask any questions that you may have. Later.
