As it says, i'm having a hard time finding something other than a fludyne and some slim fans for our cars (2gnt).

the one's I like the best so far are from punishment racing with the two slim fans

Talon/Eclipse radiator kit

But not for our car...

Not looking to break the bank right now as I have other things requiring my attention. Right now I'm seriously considering getting that radiator and fan combo and fabbing up piping for the lower coolant hose. Major problem is I have a LCIP there and my 3" dp goes past it as well.

I saw the ones on radiatorbarn.com, but they don't have the options you guys all got for the race version with the slim fan. Not sure where they went. I tried searching for the part number for the visteon 7022 radiator/fan combo without any luck of anyone ahving one.

What else do you guys have for me to try?
I fear my radiator is finally dead being since after switching my turbo to a BB water/oil cooled, my coolant is now leaking from somewhere other than any of my linesmeaning my radiator is finally dying.

Thanks

I have this problem though and I cannot for the life of me figure it out. There is this weird rattling going on (idle or moving) around 3k rpms unless im stepping on the gas. Now I'm pretty sure first thought is check the heat shields. I already did and took off the big one over top the exhaust. At first i thought it was my cat. NOPE. New cat is on and still does it. I'm completely lost :aha: If anyone knows what this noise is or has any other ideas for me to check please let me know. This noise is driving me crazy.

Hey guys. Thanks in advance. I did a Timing belt/ Water pump replacement on my 2G N/T and am having some problems. I also changed my radiator.

At first when we finished the T-belt job, we started it up for a very short while and it seamed fine. At this point we noticed a crack at the top tank of the radiator, so we replaced it.

After the radiator replacement, we started it up and it seamed kind of sputtery. Then we turned it off and on a couple of times. At one point the car just died. Then it got to the point to where it wont start unless i press the gas while turning the key. So if i pressed the gas while turning the key it would turn on, if i pressed it so that RMP stayed at or above 1k, the sputtering went away significantly. If i let go of the gas though, the car turned off.

At this point, we checked the ignition coil and the resistances were all in good range. We then proceeded to redo the timing belt just in case we left it wrong. We put in a new t-belt tensioner and set the timing marks on the camshaft sprockets dead-on perfect.

Now we start it up again and the same thing. The car wont start unless we press the gas. If we press it and have the rpms at or above 1k, the car seams good, just with a barely noticable sputtering/shaking. If i let go of the gas, the car dies.

At this point checking the Check Engine Light, it gave us a code 43 (with the key dance) and according to 2gnt.com it has to do with the ignition coil. I check the ignition coil and sure enough some of the resistances are off the allowed range. So this ignition coil is bad. So after the first tbelt job, the ignition coil was good, and now after the t-belt redo, its bad. what the heck right?

Anyone got any ideas of whats going on, what could it be, or what i could do?

Thanks a lot in advance guys. Your'e awesome.

I have the motor completely out of my car now and i have compared the headers to the stock manifold. The headers are longer and if a flange is welded on then it wont line up correctly with the down pipe. From the small amount of research i have done i think i have a cup ball joint or something like that, i just dont see how to connect it to the down pipe, any suggestion?

There seems to be a crack in the bottom of the tank. I spoke with a Mitsubishi mechanic about it, he claims that it caused by the engine flexing and causing stress on the radiator. Has anyone had this issue and has anyone used a ebay radiator? They are much cheaper and says it's OEM replacement.

How many ribs should it have, and how long should it be? I can't take the old one with me to the shop since my garage is 60 kilometers away from the nearest automotive store, and DSMs are really rare here so it's no use to ask from a shop.

Anyone remember these "belt specs"? CAPS gives me p/n MB878687, but even google can't find me the dimensions... :(

Im running a 97 420a with bolt ons as of now and my hp goals are from 225 to 275 or 13's whichever, would i need forged internals for this goal or should i just rebuild my motor with a kit and upgrade something else. In other words can i run 13's without going forged or blowing my motor after a rebuild?
