Starter issue

Trying to start a fresh build today. I turn the key over and the pump kicks on. It doesn't kick on without the clutch in so my switch is good. No starter noise at all. I used a jumper wire and it engaged. What could be my issue? Nothing but a bad remote wire?

Check your starter solenoid wire to see f it still plugged in, ontop of starter and somewhat by the shift cables

I checked it from near the battery terminal at the plug to clip. Its in bad shape but its making a connection.

I had the wrong plugged hooked up! Whats the plug off the battery terminal for?
