Good point. Lets make it 6:00 pm. That should give us close to 3 hours before it gets dark and it should be much cooler. Pass the word and let everyone know!
2012 El Paso DSM/EVO cookout on Sunday, July 8th at 6:00pm at Ascarate Park.

No one is bringing condiments yet like ketchup, mustard, mayo, relish. If you want to bring another meet that cool with me too. Let me know!
TOMORROW at 6:00 pm at Ascarte Park! Don't forget! See you guys there and don't forget to bring the stuff you volunteered for or else we could be missing some critical ingredients! It looks like we should plan to feed about 40-50 people so plan accordingly with what you are bringing. Also if anyone is able to get there early to help Alan hold a spot that would be awesome! Here is the current list:
9!'clipseDOHC (Dsmtuners/EvoM) - 2 people - hamburgers, cupcakes, cooler

I wanted to come out, but I got stuck in Lubbock, and by the time I got back to Carlsbad it was 3:00pm... by the time I got my car ready to drive over and found the place, it would have been dark. Maybe another later this summer...

I'm trying to decide what direction to take my DSM in at the moment. I was keeping it balanced for street, drag, and autox but I bought an Evo so now the street and autox are covered with that. That frees my DSM up for drag racing but I don't know if I want to strip it (cut out the trunk, lexan, bumper exit exhaust, fuel cell, heater, etc)and keep playing with the 14b or just throw on something bigger (20g, hx35, etc). Either way I will be working on traction. I'd like to swap to a full slick on a 13 inch rim as opposed to my 16" drag radials. I would also like to get some custom made traction bars since there isn't much available for the FWD DSMs.

Nathan,
Just got back into town again. It has been crazy busy past few months, plus with the new baby I have been in Japan alot. I will be here for almost a month this time. Wont go back to Japan until October 1st.
I worked on the Talon some this past weekend. Rebuilt my Teins and changed springs again. Dont know if I like it, sits lower that I like. Which is crazy to me since the car is so lite. Cant imagine how low it would be if the car was full weight.
I am still having the same issue I was before with all cylinders firing consistently. Everything else feels solid. I need to just send in my ECU and eliminate that from the equation. Going to do like you recommended and send it out to Tom and Dave at ECMTuning.
Just hope to get her running right. When its firing properly it feels strong. Plus such a shame, it's just sitting in a corner in the garage collecting dust.

Well after a year long battle with my car and money it's finally done and running still needs minor adjustments but what a great relief just knowing I can be back on the road with my own dsm again.

I hear you man! Sounds like you have made some good progress though! Like I told you before, if there is any issue with our ECU, Tom and Dave will be able to find it and fix it for you. I have never heard a single complaint on them which is quite rare in this market and I have had only good experiences as well.
I just got back yesterday myself from working out in Arizona. I should be here the rest of the year though.
Here is a picture I thought you would enjoy. I took it a autox 2 weeks ago here in El Paso. This guy just got back from Japan too but he brought himself back a 2000 Evo VI Tommi Makinen edition. Mine is the black VIII in the middle. You really ought to come down for one of these event, you would love it!
