Being that I'm the owner, I guess I'll chime in.
The GM MAF sensor was placed in the upper intercooler piping and used a MAF Translator to translate the GM MAF signal into a Mitsu signal. This replaces the stock Mitsu MAS and allows users to run vented blow off valves and/or unrestricted intake pipes... or no intake pipe at all.
Well, the update on this car was that I had an issue with the engine at the race track. The car went 11.73@120mph that night. Not bad. However, the engine developed an odd vibration that I could not track down. Unfortunately, I found that the main bearings were on their last leg due to oil starvation I believe. All of the main bearings spun, destroying the block and crank. Fortunately, the Eagle rods and JE pistons were still in good shape and I have a good 7-bolt block and crank to use to rebuild the engine good as new.
Also, I have a new 1990 GSX chassis that has a 6-pt. roll bar installed that I will be using next season. I was coming up on the times requiring the roll bar, so I bought the chassis from a friend and am going to transfer all of the good components from the 1994 into the 1990.
Here are a few crappy pics of the caged 1990:
