Zagreb, Croatia,
Europe
Hi everybody.
I have been driving for past 5 years Mitsubishi Colt GTi with swapped 4G63T FWD.
The car was great, but I always wanted a DSM AWD.
Here in Croatia there is only one Eclipse GSX that is owned by my friend Ivan (Flashback here on the board).
He didn't want to sell me his so I was searching other countries in Europe for one but no luck until recently.
I found 1GB GSX in Italy. Ad said it only had 66.000 miles and on the pics it looked very good.
We decided to take a road trip to Italy to take a look at it. The trip was 1000 miles long.
When I sow her in parking lot I said, there goes my money.
We inspected her and there was few issues, like broken water cooler, rear springs were not the same, bad seal on transfer case, nothing to big.
Oh yes, and the engine was 6 bolt, 4 bolt rear LSD diff and 23 spline transfer case.
When we got back to Croatia I gathered the money and head back with transport to get it.
Here are some pic how she looked when we came to pick her up.
Our transport Mitsubishi Pajero.. I will never do that again, that was most uncomfortable trip ever..
Then we had some papers problem.
When they imported it new from Florida to Italy in 92 they couldn't register it here because of the red rear blinkers. They had to be orange.
So they cut!!!! the rear lights and put some orange inserts in ti.
Also added some ugly orange ones on front side of the car.
When they did that they change the car VIN number because it had modifications.
New VIN number was stamped into right strut (don't know if that is the right word) and it looks like the kids were playing with it.
So to cut the story short, we manage to get all the papers and went home.
When we finally got home, we found her a nice place in garage.
Ok so now you met the car.
When I had Colt with 4G63T i was gathering parts for like 2-3 years for it.
I had to drag those parts from US and my friend Chris Pearson helped me abnormally with sending me parts.
I would buy them from stores and they were shipped to his door. He would put as much as it could fit in one box and shipped them to me.
The tax and custom fees are around 40% from item value for import.
You can imagine how much I had to spend on that.
That is why it took me 3 years to get the parts.
Here are some of them.
TZ-Series Kevlar Clutch.
GSC Powerd Division S1 cams, OBX fuel rail, ACL Race bearings, i Innovate MTX gauge.
Quaife LSD front diff. I bought it for 90' FWD F5M33 but it seams ti will go to AWD as it was meant for it in first place
Few dark parts Forced performance 68HTA turbo and exhaust manifold with EVO 3 O2 housing, all coated.
