I don't know why I never made a build thread but I guess it's never to late to start one. I've had my 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX since 2008. Took me 3 years to find her and I also worked two jobs to pay for her. Had 95,000 on her when I bought her and was mostly stock beside some crappy lowering springs, strut tower bars, hks high power muffler and rims. Had sun fade but besides that it was the cleanest dsm I've ever seen in person. No rust anywhere. Here's a few pictures from a few days after I picked her up.

I soon swapped out for stock tail lights

I ended up raising the car back up to stock and removing the tint because I got a few tickets for both. I started school and worked full time just to cover my bills so I didn't do anything to her for awhile. After I graduated and got a good job the first thing I did was buy my exhaust and intake. Bought a RRE downpipe test pipe and cat, apexi n1 cat-back and injen intake.

Was never a big fan of chrome/polished parts under the hood so I had the intake powder coated and turned out good for $5

My plans where to stop there on performance upgrades but like the rest of us I got addicted so I added a boost gauge and a mbc. Still wasn't happy so I bought the punishment/cx racing fmic kit with black piping and a ngr type s bov then painted the car. Right after paint I replaced my rims with DR-19s cause the old rims where scratched and getting worn because of the previous owner.

After that I saw a deal that Fp was having for a evo III 16g and a race manifold so I bought it. I put it on and the manifold melted my fans and I couldn't get the 16g to work properly cause of boost creep. I put the car in storage and was planning already for next year. Well life throws curves at you and some really crappy things happened in my life. I was injured and hospitalized for two months so the car had to be put on hold till I recovered enough to be able to turn a wrench. while I was recovering I got to go watch a friend (GofaST4life) autox and knew that I wanted to try it as soon as I was able to.

About mid sumer I was finally strong enough to work on the car. After I was aloud to drive again I was getting tired of the boost creep problems so I decided to go back to the stock turbo so I could drive it like I wanted to until I had dsm link and a wideband. I've always love the thought of a stock turbo look with a kick so I bought Fp big t28. The car pulls much better on top the the t25 ever did and am very happy with it.

After this I decided to take care if my airbag. After getting in trouble a few times for the tint I took the tint off and as soon as I did that the airbag started pealing and just got worse and worse. I bought a used airbag from miller import and was very easy to swap out.#

I also installed a walbro 190 and the front rm sway bar just before winter but I do not have any pictures but I will take some when I finish my suspension.

Over the winter I've bought EPROM, Dsm link, fic850cc, innovative wideband, tokico illuminas, prokit springs and a polyurethane bushings kit. These parts will be installed as soon as the weather breaks which I'm hoping is real soon.#I'm planning on running 22psi but only if the tune is safe enough to.

Have them set at 3 right now and have drove it a little. Haven't tried messing with it tho cause have to bleed the clutch a little more.

Ive been trying to install link but it just won't connect so I can install my 850s and run more boost. Hopefully get this figured out soon.

On the side I've also been building a TDO5H 20g from my old evo 3. Took the old wheel and housing off. Bought a TDO6 cover and been in contact with Justin to get the wheel. I took the internal waste gate from the 16g and flattened the bracket and cut a little bit out of the arm for it to work with the cover.

So I competed my first autocross event yesterday. I've rode with my buddy Aaron quite a few times before and I knew that this is what I wanted to do. So after so many problems this year with the car she was finally able to get out on the track and let me say THAT IT WAS A BLAST! The goal for the day was to get at least a 40.99 I did my first fun of 45.xx the day consisted of 4 passes in the morning and 8 after break. On my last run of the morning session I pulled a 41.4 and was so pumped. The session after break my first run was a 41.7 I believe so I was getting more consistant. After a few more more runs I finally broke into the 40's with a 40.328. I was so pumped I met my goal so for the rest of my runs I was just trying to get more smooth and consistant. My 7th run of the second session felt pretty good (besides the fact I still had my POS all season kuhmo that make the car handle like crap and want to kick out) and I was blown away by the number when I came across the line. A 39.849 :hellyeah:. I finished 3rd in my class and it was only 1 second slower then most of the evos and stis there with bigger brakes and way better tires. Lets just say I'm hooked and can't wait to get my other set of tires on the car. I owe a big thanks to my co pilot Aaron (GofaST4life) for the instructions and helping me see the course better. He did pretty well despite the fact he's having hesitation problems going around hard corners. The few shots I got from the day.

I got my hankook evo tires on and the car feels like it use to. currently runnin 40psi but i was told to try 45-46psi from people who have owen them and hopefuly they will be even better.

The last autocross in my area was this past weekend and even though I was only able to run a half day it was a blast like usual. When I left I was doing pretty good and was beating most of the WRXs and others in my class by at least 1 second I not more. I was deffentely not leading my class but was doing well for my experience and the wet track (rained over night and some while we were setting up the course). I'm not sure what place I finished and wouldn't be surprised if it was closer to the bottom because the track dried out after I left and usually times get better as you get used to the course.

Only racing shot of the day for my car and of course it's the run when the side marker fell out ROFL

DSMs where well represented again because of my buddy GofaST4life. He beat my time by the end of the day but I'm happy because a Dsm did well. He has a lot more experience then I do and I shoot for similar times as him. Check out his build http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/dsm...aarons-1997-gsx-street-autox-track-build.html

UPDATE:
Got my 20G wheel from Justin and finally put together for good. Can't wait to see what 24-25 psi feels like with some 272 cams.

Tired to installing link again and I narrowed it down to my car being the problem and not the ecu or cable. My OBD-2 ports not getting power so as soon as I figure out this little setback I'm gonna be throwing my 850cc injectors in and maybe make a trip to the local drag strip before the car season is over

the build looks great!

about a year ago i had an issue with my ODB2 port not reading either. (link and ODB2 scanner would not read). back tracking what things i recently did i remembered i pulled a 10A fuse (power door fuse or interior lights if i recall) under my steering column trying to figure out my battery drain. i put the fuse back in and my ODB2 port started working again.

just a thought whether it helps you or not.

I will be looking into this problem more when the weather warms up. My buddie GofaST4life will track down the problem and we will give your idea a shot.

Update: I've been looking for two years but I finally was able to picked up a 17 psi adjustable waste gate for the t-28 to help the turbo hold boost better at higher boost levels. Very hard to find these days.

Im liking the auto x build. I went to Erie speedway a few years ago for a Nopi drift event that was an absolute blast. Its cool seeing pictures of the track because I've personally been there. Im curious to see how the 20g does on the track. Its been so long since Ive ran one I forgot what it felt like.

I was also at that event. Had a blast and it sucks they stopped coming. Autoxing on that track is a lot of fun because of the banked corners. I am curious also and really itching to slap it on but I really want to get the most out of my t-28 as I can before throwing it on. My buddy will be running the td05h 20g with stock cams (ill be running either 264/272 or 272/272) and I'm hoping it puts down great times as well.

I've been down that road! When i bought my 2g the fan got torched by the manifold! when i swapped in a mishimoto radiator, i just moved both fans as pushers and haven't looked back. I could probable get away with a push/pull set-up now since i got a ceramic coated fp race manifold but why change? Its way too hot under these hoods! I would stick with two pushers fans all the time. If you deleted the A/C you can turn the fan on with the switch for extra cooling when you are romping on it.

It's been awhile since I've updated. The cars been stored all winter and just bought a few parts and waited for spring. I got the car out a few weeks ago and decided to drive it for a little bit to cure my major condition of boost withdrawal. I finally got to work on the car on Saturday and got a little bit done. First the list of this years upgrades.

So far I have
DKS 272/272
3G brake booster
3G master cylinder
Evo 3 intake manifold
1g throttle body

I had to stop there because of the busy Easter weekend and then the weather hasn't been the greatest. I'll update this soon with results.

Finally got the car back up and running. Was having a high idle issue and low vacuum. Turns out it was a few vacuum lines hooked up wrong causing -2 vacuum at idle and my 1g TB wouldn't work causing high idle no matter what I did so I put the stock 2g TB on and it idled perfectly. All I have to do is bleed the brakes and I will be able to take her down the road. Hopefully I'll have pictures up by Saturday. Aaron and I are gonna put some serious wrench time in on Friday and if we get to it I'm hoping we get to a little project that will set the car off a little more.

My first event is on the 18th in Buffalo, NY at Ralph Wilson Staduim. Can wait to see how this car performs against others and hoping these upgrades are worth the hassle I've been having with the car.

So I didn't get to go to the first event of the season due to my tps being off. I finally adjusted it properly and got her back to running great. Also go some zii tires for my evo 9 BBS. I painted them white and I think that it looks great besides it being a bi*** to keep clean.

Had my first even today even tho I only got 3 runs in before it was called due to weather. Was just starting to get a feel for the new wheels and tires and let me tell you I love them. Turn the wheel and floor it and it still goes where I want it to. In my class of SM I finished 2nd and am very happy to say DSM's came in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Very good in my book even though I need to work on some stuff by the next event which is July 6th.
