Finally back in a DSM after over 2 years and getting to go about it the way I've wanted. I owned this car a few years ago and always wanted it back and finally the time came. Fortunately, this time around I have a reliable DD and in no rush to finish it.

Overall plans are to get it running by the end of May, I'd be happy with 120+ traps.

Parts I have:
HX-35 (T3)
Ebay manifold
Tial 44
Vband exhaust
RC1000's
255 pump
Magnus SMIM
Short route IC
AngryAero Shutter covers
NT TB
Fuelab Filter
Hallman Pro
Catch Can
Coolant resevoir

Turbo will be getting rebuilt as well as the TB and of course tons of powder and ceramic coating to make this thing clean as hell which will be most of my initial work since there is too much damned snow to work on it. Once it melts, subframes are getting dropped to clean up the underbody, replace some stuff and coat what I can.

Looks like a solid start. Sub'd! :thumb:

Shipped my intercooler out to ETS to find out it has an epoxy paint on it so it can't be anodized :( I'll figure something funky out.

Got the t-stat housing all welded shut and got the AN fittings welded on the t-stat, water pump and radiator. Got 95% of the fittings and lines that I need for fuel and cooling. Sure gets expensive quick! Still got a laundry list of odds and ends to get.

2eta5e6a.jpg

Need to get the return situated to the stock line but there's no -8 to 1/4" barbs so 3 fittings to reduce it. I need to cut and reangle the top of the tstat so it goes straight towards the top rad fitting. Vc needs shaved yet and adding pro-werks cap, -8an fittings and some BADASS CompWorks baffles ;) Finally going to work on it some this weekend since it'll be 50+ degrees. Woo! Also got all my motor mounts with black poly bushings, not too much on the checklist left.

Picked up V3 and an ECU for dirt cheap, just bought an ACT 2900 with low miles. Rear end got ripped out, replacing all of the bushings and coating everything of course. Likely just going to stick with the stock brakes this year along with the wheels on it, getting too anxious and don't have a ton of time to work with.

The rear end project has turned into a big chore especially with the little time I have to work on it (maybe 4 hours a week) I've removed the gas tank shield to coat now as well too and even exhaust hangers (OCD) Axles are seized in the hub so I have them at a shop now to get pressed out so hopefully they can be saved but I have a spare set if not. I got the differential apart tonight to swap in the manual diff, ordered the new seals that I need for the diff from JNZ and sway bar end links from Rock Auto. Trying to decide on a color for the subframe/diff. I've been thinking just flat black and keep it simple but at the same time I hate to put all the work in for it to not stick out just a tad but nothing too crazy.

Quite the delay here as we've been very busy at the shop but we're finally starting to make some worthwhile progress on this. We moved from PA to VA last year so this got put on hold and a lot of parts sold off in the mean time. I acquired a stock 6 bolt shortblock that I've completely gone over with all new hardware, gaskets, timing components, etc. Every thread in the block and head has been chased for some preventative maintenance. The head just has some evo beehive springs and retainers that we're looking to mate some kelford 272's or fp4r's with. We've gotten about as far as we can with the motor until we acquire some cams so until then we're focusing our attention to the rear of the car again.

Dirty dusty block:

Sub'd because it's a frickin' build by detective coating!! Also secretly hoping this means more DSM powder coating specials ..

Hey, you should powder coat THE ENTIRE CAR!! LOL

Thanks guys! :thumb:

The subframe has been stripped down since we had to press in the solid bushings and decided to change the color up a bit after making a new one that I like. Need to wait for the sun to come back out so I can get some good pictures of the metallic in it.
10670086_752914008132929_4283017720446263052_n_zps89689f1c.jpg

Got around to helicoil'ing some of the exhaust studs and replacing them with new ones (this manifold isn't staying!)
IMG_2608_zpsff2b6385.jpg

If I could coat the whole car, I would. Unfortunately there's seam sealer and wires that wouldn't like 400 degrees :nono:

Next we'll be getting the car on the lift next weekend to install the subframe and some other parts under there. We still need to get the rear differential coated and assembled, some bushings pressed in, wheel bearings, studs, etc to finish it up so we still got a little before the rear is being completed.

Got quite a few new parts in!

-ACT 2900 unsprung
-Magnus SMIM
-Kelford 272's
-FIC 950's
-Fidanza Cam Gears (coated Anodized Purple)

Wheel bearings are on their way from Rock Auto along with some ARP extended studs so we can get the rear knuckles fully assembled to start bolting the rear back together. We still need to get in some parts to assemble the rear diff. Hopefully we have some installed pictures very soon! :hellyeah:

Making a little progress, though it's been tough to find time since it's busy season for us in the shop.

Stock lifters modified to keep oil puddled at the tip of it so they don't tick

Picked up some 16x8 +48 Rota Slipstreams to clear the Brembos with some spacers, still deciding on the rubber to mount on them. Of course these will be coated once they arrive ;)

Just waiting on some OEM parts from Extreme PSI to assemble the rest of the diff, D2 Coilovers from STM, Rear LCA's from Miller Import Parts, and LCA bushings from JNZ Tuning and then we can finally put the entire rear back in!

Spent some time today installing the upper control arms on the car and dis-assembling the e-brake so we can powder coat the dust shields and rebuild the e-brake assembly before installing them on the knuckles.
