Dropped the oil pan
Haven't really looked at anything else yet accept what was in the pan.
Check it out, looks like aluminum slag?
Edit:
Pulled off the girdle and pistons. I am amazed at the condition everything is save the one piston. No signs of crank walk, bearings show barely any signs of wear, crank has no friction against my finger nails. Still plan on replacing pistons and bearings.
On a side note, I've been trying to finish dismantling the t25, but the main snap ring is preventing further progress. I bought 2 pairs of snap ring pliers. One is too small, and the other is too big. I may try and just grind down the points on the large pair, the ends are too big.
Next on the list is to pull the block and have it tanked etc. Really do not want to buy a freaking lift and stand for this. Anyone in the area have one I can barrow?

After scoring a 2-ton lift from CL yesterday (50 bucks) and beating my block into submission, it finally gave up and came out. I was using tow straps rather than a leveler so I didn't want to risk breaking one pulling the trans with the bock. Any ways its out and ready to be cleaned up.
When I got to taking the main/harmonic balance-r pulley off I noticed it had a broken retaining ring. The main washer was ok, but it was not sitting flush with the seat. I would imagine this probably caused the belt to come off at high rpm's and would explain why their were problems with the timing belt.
Anyone know what that part is?
Next Ill be cleaning the engine bay and fixing some small things with the strut towers.
Any thoughts on an engine bay color? I was thinking about white or maybe yellow?
More pictures tomorrow
Just pictures. They're a little dark, waited till the last minute
That "washer" turned out to be a piece of the drive shaft pulley gear. And, the pieces of metal in the oil pan were in fact pieces of the head.
Block is inside the barrel soaking in parts cleaner
Empty engine bay
Random
Busted crank gear

Just some pictures of the block. She was a nasty greasy pig, but shes cleaned up nice with some engine cleaner a wire wheel & some red high-temp lipstick HAHA
Edit: Forgot to mention, Ill be doing the engine bay next. I think I am going with white because I am eventually going to have the car painted white. I dig the white and black look.

As long as the belt doesnt want to come off of it and the grooves are still intact i would say it looks ok.. but i really wouldnt mess with anything that has to do with the timing belt cause if that pully fails its gonna cost you some money i would just got to a junkyard and get one they wouldnt charge more than 5 bucks i would think

Updates
Am going to just replace the crank sprocket and pulley, not worth the risk.
Took the head apart for a mild oil port mod to avoid lifter tick, threw the lifters back in seafoam to bleed again before reassembly. Also, since finding the casting access from the new head in the oil pan I wanted to double check to make sure there wasn't any more so I did some deburring & some light sanding on the bottom w/320. And since it was apart and going to be cleaned again,,, I did some mild porting/polishing on the head inlet/outlet.
More pictures tomorrow.
Completed the majority of my bse. I decided to go with cutting the shaft & keeping the end to avoid having to modify the oil pump and any issues with high oil pressure. I flipped the inside bearing and kept the end bearing lined up with the oil whole. Aside from avoiding high oil pressure, I get to keep the majority of OE functionality with that assembly, minus the inner shaft of course & don't have to buy an over priced freeze plug kit. Measured my cylinder bores and de-glazed them. All within spec. Weather permitting, I will try and tackle the strut towers and engine bay tomorrow. I've been putting this off for some reason. I guess it seems a bit overwhelming. I know once I get into it, it wont be too bad.

New shiny stuff
Nothing special, just OE spec pistons.
Ceramic coated the tops for sh*ts and giggles.

Small update
Finally had some time to drive out to a machine shop to have my wrist pins installed. I had the new rings in the box with all the other parts so the guy asked me if I wanted him to install them for me, come to find out they are the wrong freaking piston rings.
So, one step forward, another step back.

Bad luck? or just wrong part?
Edit: Welcome to the forum luis_23, & thanks.
Same problem I had with previous piston rings. The coil spring is too wide and does not sit correctly to allow upper and lower oil rings/rails to sandwich together.
Visually inspecting the coil springs, they are larger than the originals.
This is some kind of cruel nightmere
I am ordering standard ring set for 95 eclipse turbo.
Anyone have an idea of what I'm doing wrong here?
Update: So "RA" has been sending me the wrong part. No offer to make right other than to return for refund for 2 mistakes and return shipping costs? Not cool...
Update: They provided pre-paid label this time...

Updates on build
You guys with garages are lucky. I would be turning wrenches right now if I could.
Still have a ton of things to finish up. Wishing I had a DSM jedi master to help with the final stages. Just so many hoses to reconnect

Hey Tiny,
Not yet, but shouldn't take me more than a few hours. Biggest thing with the interior is just cleaning the hell out of all the panels before I re-install them.
It rained today so I didn't get a whole lot done. I was able to connect most of the engine harness. Not nearly as bad as I thought it might be.
Still have to order more parts but shes coming back together nicely. I'm going to set a first start goal of Oct 1st. I recently landed a new job so I wont have as much time as I have had to work on her.

Been following for a while, just came back to check up on it, looks good so far! Has the engine been dropped in already or still doing a few more modification on the engine before shes in? Are all the harnesses in?
Look forward to future updates!
