BTW, Been having a buddy who i just met (but we are really good friends already) tune my car.....im revving to 7300RPM's right now. about 14deg of timing up top. boost is set around 18psi but is dropping to 13psi on the logs above 6K. I am gonna swap out the EWG 15lb spring for a 20lb one and try that. it's that, the MBC, or the FP1/272 combo is kicking in and taking what air the 16g has left above 6K. Just some regular fun tuning stuffs. car really is fun now tho! really snappy

Unless your wg spring is bad I would highly doubt that it is the problem. The 15lb spring should be good to 30ish psi.
I also never heard of the 264/272 combo causing this?
Have you boost leak tested lately? Maybe your bov is opening or something isnt hooked up right.
Either way good luck finding the problem. I really like the look of your car.
Edit: what turbo are you running again? Still the e316g?

well, it looks like we are getting hotspots/knock issues when we try to make good power with the car. the pistons must be too ####ed up from before.
Gonna finish up this 12deg max timing table and make subaru power out of it. timing is wayy below stock timing map. Really glad I paid my buddy to #### up my BS belt install and cause these last 6months or so of issues with knock.
just gonna drive it and save for a rebuild kit. already wasted $1250 on the build and repair. not gonna give up, just gonna have to wait awhile.
at least it looks good.

He's still on the 16G but the rate of pressure fall after the efficiency threshold is reached is what's got me a little thrown off and I suspected the spring. We're currently keeping the tune he has since at higher timing the added pressure causes instant detonation, it jumps up to 2.5 degrees so I think the pistons are developing hot spots since they where dinged up after the valves struck them some months back. He can usually get away with 1 pull at higher timing without any knock, but I'd rather have an efficient tune than have something he can only use when the car cools off a bit.
We're dropping in new pistons and rods then commencing the tuning once more, the timing will depend more on the measured EGTs than anything, since the cylinder EGTs are usually a few hundred degrees higher, I'd rather not add too much timing advance and melt a piston.

Picked these up for $350 shipped from a Tuners mod . I'm TIRED of the uneven-ness of the illumina drop. I want to have an even gap or at least the ability to adjust. Been waiting for a set to appear.
rears shocks are shitty, fronts shocks haveabout 3K on em. rear springs are rusty, will get fresh powder coat before install. I already have illuminas with about 15-20K on em so i got GC w/spare fronts for less than the cost of a new GC setup. and this IS for an AWD so all is well.
It took me a good hour this morning to unseize the bolts out of the damn collars.....LOCK TITE??! really. I'm gonna lather the bolts up with anti-seize when they go back in.
ALSO, I attended the Tri-State Tuners Spring meet with the panda. I was up from 8pm-2:30am doing a full scratch-X/paint repair/wax job on it for the show. The car has never looked better. I'm so happy I have this lil car

we have that pic already lol.
Coils are on. rears are max low, fronts are max low and evened out. its not a slammed-type suspension. It does make you able to take the car down to no more than a finger at an angle fender-tire gap tho. I will probably raise the fronts up a thread. less of a rake.
The handling is night and day. much crisper, no more "rocking boat" rear end feeling. I can actually play in the corners now! I need to add washers to the rear and look into a camber kit. for $350 i am exactly where I WANTED to car to be. No more uneven wheel gap!
This is driven on, and cornered hard with, so it should be settled:

I'm gonna wait, i hate messing with needles lol.
well, that array of small logs that I ran over slammed the upper control arm into the frame and chipped the paint off.....and the hood came down onto the illumina adjustment area on the shock body top and dented the hood up......yayyyyy, spidered the paint. so i gotta get a de-dent guy to fix that. I'm gonna have to get some hard foam and put it on the hood so when it flexes it doesn't to that. shit is CLOSE! i cant belive my rim isnt bent and the bumper isnt shattered. I WAILED into like 4 pieces of dead wood in the road.
I'm gonna go up a few threads all around, even tho it looks amazing and handes great. just a few. the upper control arms are reaching for the sky . poor things, gotta love low's!
car drives FINE! that's what matters.

lordy lordy, I'm back!
Installed an FP 4" instake pipe and DD the car for 3 weeks. Took it to the track, ran 13.1 @ about 102?mph, 1.7560ft. 4500 15psi Anti-Lag Launch, 20psi tune. 14deg timing, hit pistons, low comp in one cyl, and knock if we really tried to get power with more timing. Kinda just tooled around in the car for a bit.
I had it laying round since march....but I got bored and threw on an HX35 w/.55Ar BEP hotside with -10AN return line. I unfortunately killed the turbo in 200mi oiling from the OFH with a restrictor. I'm still kind of confused on why it died, but it seemed to be not enough oil pressure. I will be running off the HEAD and checking with a gauge this time since it really varies. I let it sit for about 2 weeks, debated throwing the 16g back on. Trans was about done tho, so I was at a point where I needed to do something....so.....
I parked the car and out of the blue one day I bought another DSM hahahahaha!
I picked up a freshly inspected, 1.5L 1993 Eagle Summit DL 5-spd. Manual rack, manual windows, no A/C.....nothing....perfect track/lightweight fun car.....and then after a week passed I picked up a '91 6-Bolt for it that was built by Turbotrix in NJ. it's bored .050 over (about the safe limit for the DSM's), BSEK installed, oil pump is low mileage/new with build I was told, and looks clean. low miles, around 1000 when the car was parted. I brought it home and within a week decided "screw this the summit is TOOO much fun to beat on and still get 35MPG on 87oct, Panda is getting a 6-bolt swap".....so, Onto the swappage! (yeah i didn't see this coming, it got me by surprise :P)
It took me much to long to get the engine out. I went slow as this was my first "on my own" DSM engine pull. finally got it totally out and trans off today. did most of the work last Saturday and didn't see the car again till today.
I picked up another engine stand so both engines can be off the ground while swapping some stuff over. The head WILL be sent out for new seals, checked, and 8500rpm-ok springs/retainers this week. The trans will be going to a buddy named "Q" for a mix of (let me try to remember his concoction) 1g 1st, EVO 3rd, EVO 5th, tighter preloads to hold the power and new synchro's. Xfer case will go as well to be shimmed up and checked. I'm going to use an ACT2900 unless otherwise suggested.
Next weekend I hope to have the engine be reassembled and hang timing belt/accessories off of it. HX35 is already shipped for rebuild/new wheel/etc. Trans will go out this week IF I'm lucky and work on that.
How's that for a "what have you done since May?" post

Car looks really clean but I'm not a fan of making a talon an eclipse, Actually, It's a sin to take off a 2gb talon bumper and put on a girly eclipse bumper.
Good luck with the rest of your build.

i have since bought another 6-bolt motor for $300, COMPLETE, out if a junkyard...too good to pass up. It (once again) was bought for the summit, but I might just throw it in the talon for a little while and run it. I need a LOT of the 6-bolt acc and timing belt side items. I'm running out of steam. lol. I grabbed an oil pan, waterpipe and misc little things off my buddies crap motor for free. Like I said...SLOWLY getting there.
The Trans/xfer case assy is supposed to be shipped out this week to Mich to get some shimming, new synchro's, some EVO gears for closer ratio feel. Done to hold up 500WTQ. A buddy is hooking me UPPPPP.
Car is still a shell, just waiting for me to stop being a girl and changing my mind!!!! Picts when I can to make this more interesting.

UPDATE:
car is a shell, apart and in storage in a garage. the 6-bolt is going to my Summit. HX-35 and exhaust is sold. Car is on infinite hold, not to be sold at this point. I moved to VA and I had to break my lease so all extra Panda funds are gone.
one day I shall return!

Thats why I took a bazillion pics of Panda the last 2 years. I learned to snap pics to capture how bad ass she looked lol.
One day if I'm lucky and get enough cash I will redo her. All i need is a 16g 7 bolt setup and a trans job to get her rolling again
