VA traffic laws are incredibly tough, and expensive. So if the bike sells first ill keep the car.

ummm lets break it down..
lawyer 1200 minimum 200 every hour after the time slot
max fine could be 2,500
just staying out of jail, and keeping my license is the man thing i'm worried about...
the bike is prob gonna go first,
have a guy looking at the shell and the parts tomorrow... might be time to step up to a stock block s2k with a 35r, or start saving for the BMW M3 that is the shell sells. so well see

ya i hope to get back in to it again soon. Just need to find time for it between work, school, community service, and keeping a social life lol
But the next big thing for this build is to send out the block for machining, while cleaning and reinstalling more parts

I recommend taking a very small triangle file to the splines of the steering shaft and the part it goes into. Helps clean any possible burr's or junk that may be blocking it. I'm thinking this should work, it works when I can't get axle shafts into bearing hubs.
Oh and some grease can help too.

Looks good man. Engine bay turned out good. The only thing that bothers me is that you didnt mask off the tops of the studs and the nuts where the upper control arms and struts mount to the strut towers. Most everyone else Ive seen doesnt mask them either, .....just one of those things that bothers me. No biggie, still looks great. I would also invest in a gravity feed gun. Your attention to cleanliness is superb. Also, (although its already done now) I would definately either bought black carpet or properly dyed the carpet you have. Despite what you read, after you drag your feet across the carpet a few times....the color is going to rub off. But as long as you keep floor mats in it, and never plan on touching it, you will be good. Same thing with the painted plastics, as long as you dont rub against them you should be ok.
But the car is really looking clean though. I cant waaaaait to see what you end up doing as far as the appearance of the engine setup. Keep it up

Wow that sucks Im guessing it was on your bike as your car was still in peices? Cops suck here I get pulled over all the time for dumb s**t like tint, or your car being to low. My car has stock tint and suspension but hasnt stopped them from even giving me a ticket once for being to low. I beat that in court but what dicks!

ya i would be upset about those lil things also, but i was deff in the wrong for doing what i was doing on the street, but when your with 15 other hard core bikers on a holiday things get a lil crazy. it was just a high pressure situation to keep up that i allowed my self to get caught in and now i'm paying the price.
but my lawyer has my back im pretty sure im going to be ok now.

hey thanks for the kind words vanilla g.
i was just being lazy that day about taping things up " i had a concert to go to so i was kinda rushing lol"
i completely agree about the painted plastic pieces comment. but i choose certain ones to paint just in case they do get messed up so i could pull them out easy and freshin then up. as for the carpet i have evo mr floor mats that will be laying over them ..
This is the issue i'm having with the steering rack and u joint..VVVVVV

Either unbolt the rack from the subframe or unbolt the steering column under the dash so you can line those up. I recommend unbolting the rack from the subframe, it's easier. You just have to remove the 4 bolts, lower it down a bit, line them up, then rebolt the rack.

Car looks great, a lot of effort in there and it shows, I commend your efforts!!!
As for VA, i lived there growing up and it's that damn commonwealth attitude, that state will F*7k you over anyway they can anytime they get a chance, I've been in a group that we were all running on our bikes at well over 140 (and would have gotten away) but my ex stopped, so i went back for her... we got yelled at and that's it, i've only got 3 tickets on it and i ride like a nut, keeping the front wheel off the ground prevents wear i always say (03 gixxer 750) I've even had the copter clock me and have state troopers waiting and the statie even ripped up my wreckless ticket for 90 in a 60 when i said i was comfortablt with the wind that day and would do 155 on the track in the winds (this place is really windy quite often) but he still gave me the 90 in a 60 then 2 other times i got popped on one wheel, but to be honest I almost died from a wreck in 01 because of running so i am usually the first to pull over now days
sorry to go OT, best of luck with VA laws...get Ben Woodbridge, or mark gardner both good VA lawyers for criminal work (haha DONN"T ask me how i know )

Thanks man, and ya the cop situation here in Va is bad but owell, my court date has been moved to august 11 so it gives me time to finish community service and get other things out of the way my lawyer has a good case set up so i might walk away from this okay...
