Check Engine Light (CEL)
Before you start any threads speculating the cause of your check engine light (CEL) please take the time to have your ECU scanned. Most automotive parts stores such as AutoZone, PepBoys, O'Reilly's or Advanced will scan your ECU for free.
After the ECU has been scanned, do the following:
1. Be sure to write down the code generated by the scanner.
2. Search to see if others have had similar problems or codes.
3. If, and only if, you cannot find the answer elsewhere, start a thread detailing your car's symptoms and the check engine light code.
