well due to my crappy new years i am finally getting under her and putting new axle seals in. but what trans fluid should i use.....royal purple.... or Pennzoil Synchromesh. i have that nasty grindin noise in mine and iver heard to use 90w royal purple and it solves alot of it. and how much 3q. enough?

thanks
phil

BG syncromesh is the best out there. I have it in my 90 with 100 k on it and shifts like butter now. I aslo recomend checking you clutch master for leaks behind the boot were the petal meets the rod on the inside of the car mine is leaking and need to rebuild it and aslo bleed the complete system out every year to keep a firm petal.

Replying back from first reply. 3 quarrts go in the trans and 1.5 in the transfercase. You can use the syncromesh 2 in the transfer case but I use 75w 90 synthetic gear lube. Its cheeper and is all you need and is what is recomended. Also while you are at it change the rear dif oil as well. use the same oil as the transfercase and will take 1.5 qts as well.
Use a good quality oil its good insurance.
